Chapter 78

"Say that again!" Hearing that she was going to find someone else to help her, Michael's anger flared up instantly.

He still vividly remembered her delighted expression when she drunkenly called out Nolan's name last night.

It was precisely because of this that he used this method to make her realize that it was he who kissed her, and it was he who had sex with her.

What happened last night should have been fulfilled on their wedding night three years ago. Now it was just making up for lost time.

But what he didn't expect was that when Isabella woke up, her eyes were filled with anger and resentment, clearly showing regret for sleeping with him last night.

Michael couldn't deny that he felt hurt.

Isabella, still furious, said, "It would be the same if I said it again. If it wasn't you last night, it would have been someone else. We're no longer married. What right do you have to control me?"

"Fine, Isabella, you better not regret this." Michael's face darkened as he got out of bed, putting on the shirt and pants he had thrown under the bed last night. "I'll be waiting for you at the courthouse. You better come early and not waste my time."

If he hadn't understood Isabella's feelings before, last night's events made it clear.

No matter how much he tried to make amends, Isabella would never come back to him.

Since she loved someone else, he would let her go.

He agreed to the divorce, letting her go to Nolan, whom she kept in her heart.

Michael put on his clothes and slammed the door without looking back.

Isabella, still naked, watched Michael leave with gritted teeth.

Michael, after making love to her, just left like that, and he claimed he wasn't a jerk?

Thinking about how she inexplicably lost her virginity last night made Isabella furious. She grabbed an ornament from the bedside and threw it at the door. "Michael, you pervert, bastard."

While he had already walked away, and no one responded to her.

At this moment, Isabella, wrapped in a blanket, was covered in bruises, her eyes red, her lips swollen, and her body marked with purple and blue bruises, as if  she had been severely "abused."

When had she ever suffered such a loss? It was all Michael's fault that she ended up like this.

If she ever got the chance, she would make him pay back double.

She would make him understand what it felt like to have legs so sore that he couldn't stand.

Just taking a small step made Isabella bite her lips in pain, her waist feeling like it was about to break.

She swore she would never let Michael off the hook.

But there wasn't much time left before she had to go to the courthouse, so she could only take a hot bath in the bathroom.

As she lay in the water relaxing, Isabella couldn't help but think about the series of events that happened last night.

If she hadn't entered that bar, she wouldn't have run into Michael, and there wouldn't have been any subsequent events.

Everything was normal last night, so why did she suddenly feel hot, with symptoms that seemed like she had been drugged?

The only person she had contact with was Michael, but Michael's arrogance wouldn't allow him to use such underhanded methods on a woman.

Besides, if he had any such intentions towards her, they wouldn't have gone three years without having sex. So it couldn't be Michael

Who would dare to drug her in a nightclub, and with an aphrodisiac at that? After all, her identity was well-known in Evergreen City, and going against her was like going against the Wilson Family.

The more Isabella thought about it, the more suspicious it seemed. She picked up her phone from the bedside and made a call. "I was set up at Lightning Speed last night. Use all means to find out who did it."

The person on the other end was someone she had trained herself, absolutely reliable.

It wasn't that she didn't trust Thomas, but she was afraid that if he found out she had slept with Michael last night, he could kill him.

If things got out of hand, she wouldn't be able to hide it from Daniel and Aiden.

Daniel was still in the hospital, and she couldn't just ignore everything.

Besides, she was officially divorcing Michael today, and a smooth divorce would give her peace of mind.

At 9:30 AM, Isabella arrived at the courthouse. She was almost familiar with this place.

As soon as she stepped in, she saw Michael already sitting in the waiting area.

Michael had changed into a custom-made iron-gray suit, looking refreshed, occasionally glancing at his watch, clearly having arrived earlier than her.

Seeing him made Isabella angry. He seemed relaxed, while she was in pain even walking.

She slowly walked up to him, and as soon as she stood still, she heard him coldly say, "You're half an hour late."

Hearing that, Isabella took a deep breath.

Didn't he know why she was late? Just as her suppressed anger was about to explode, Michael frowned and said, "Alright, now that you're here, let's start the process. I don't have much time."

Isabella was stunned. Michael was actually urging her to go through the divorce process? She thought she heard wrong.

Isabella looked up in surprise, but Michael turned and walked inside, afraid that if he looked at her any longer, he wouldn't be able to let go.

But just thinking about her dependence on Nolan made him furious.

His hands clenched tightly at his sides, and he finally steeled himself.

Since he had promised to let her go, he couldn't go back on his word.

Throughout the entire process, Michael was very cooperative. From filling out forms to signing, it was done quickly.

The troublesome matter that had dragged on for over a month was finally resolved.

After everything was done, Michael got up and left without looking back.

Isabella sat in the chair, feeling like all her strength had been drained, a nameless bitterness welling up in her heart.

It felt like everything had returned to the beginning.

Back then, she had used the marriage contract to force Michael to marry her, but he was unwilling. She had used some tricks and spent three months to make him agree.

But now, it was all over; she and Michael had no more ties, everything between them completely finished.

Isabella sat for a while, composed herself, and left to catch a cab to the hospital.

Her body was really in pain. And after last night's sex, although she saw condoms in the trash, she wasn't sure if Michael had used protection every time.

After all, in her not-so-clear memory, she had been begging for mercy from Michael, but he still barely let her go until almost dawn.

Since they were divorced, she couldn't take that risk.

At the hospital, Isabella went in for a full check-up, and the results were as she expected.

Her lower body was severely swollen, with signs of tearing.

After asking for her opinion, the doctor prescribed anti-inflammatory medication and emergency contraception.

Isabella took the medication and was about to leave when she bumped into someone at the door.

"Sorry!" She apologized with her head down and was about to leave when a familiar voice came from above. "Isabella, what are you doing here?"
