Chapter 212

Seeing this, Stella felt a pang of anxiety, wondering if she had said something wrong.

The more she praised, the worse Aiden's expression became.

Maybe she should leave first.

"Dad, it's getting late. I'll go check what's being made for dinner in the kitchen."

The kitchen always had the butler and chef busy, and she usually wouldn't even glance at such a smoky place.

She said this just to find an excuse to leave.

Aiden had already made up his mind and waved Stella away. He then took out his phone and dialed a number.

When the call connected, Aiden spoke in a low voice, "My old friend, I need you to do something for me. Just send someone over."

An hour later, a tall, well-dressed young man appeared at the Brown Villa.

He stood respectfully in front of Aiden and bowed, "Mr. Brown, my grandfather sent me to follow your orders."

Looking at the handsome young man in front of him, Aiden nodded in satisfaction.

"You do resemble your grandfather a bit. What's your name?"

"Felix Myles! Mr. Brown, you can just call me Felix."

"Alright, Felix, I called you here today to ask you to investigate something."

Aiden explained the reason for Felix's visit.

"My disobedient grandson Michael hasn't been coming home lately. I don't know what he's up to outside. Help me find out, and I will reward you handsomely."

Wasn't Michael too busy to come home?

He wanted to see what was keeping him so occupied!

The next day, at the villa, Isabella gave Cinda the day off. Feeling bored, she drove around and ended up at Daniel's place.

Daniel had just finished breakfast. Seeing Isabella, a smile immediately appeared on his face.

"Isabella, you're here. Didn't you just leave yesterday? Do you miss me already?"

Isabella nodded with a smile but deliberately said, "I missed you, Grandpa. But you sound like you're tired of me already. Just because I'm married, I can't come every day?"

"Nonsense!"

Daniel knew Isabella was joking but still stepped forward and grabbed her hand, as if afraid she would suddenly turn and leave.

"I wish you could stay here. How could I be tired of you? You're the one I worry about and care for the most."

Daniel said, pulling Isabella inside.

"I'm worried about your health. You're newly pregnant, and it's easy to get hurt. I'd feel better if you stayed home and rested."

Hearing Daniel's words of concern, Isabella felt a warmth in her heart.

She helped Daniel sit on the sofa and patted his hand to comfort him.

"Grandpa, you're overthinking. Being pregnant doesn't mean lying still is best for the baby. Moving around helps the baby grow healthily."

"Really?"

Daniel didn't understand much about pregnancy. When his wife Luna was pregnant with their five sons, he was busy building his empire.

He only spent some time with Luna when she was pregnant with Grace. By then, Luna's health was already poor, and she spent most of her pregnancy in bed.

So he doted on Grace more, and now he transferred that affection to Isabella.

He just wanted her to have a healthy baby. He didn't ask for anything else.

"But you shouldn't be too active. You need to be careful in the first three months. You're going to be a mother now, so you can't be as reckless as before."

Daniel advised carefully.

He wasn't the best person to give advice on pregnancy, but there was no one else in the family to remind Isabella.

Grace passed away early, and her uncles were all single and knew nothing about this.

If he didn't mention it, no one would care for Isabella.

"Grandpa, I know. Don't worry, I've hired a nanny and am reading up on pregnancy."

Only then did Daniel feel relieved.

Seeing the nice weather outside, Isabella wanted to take Daniel out to sit for a while. But before she could get up, Daniel stopped her.

"Isabella, there's something I've been thinking about and need to tell you."

"What is it?" Isabella looked puzzled.

She had just been here yesterday, and Daniel's sudden seriousness made her curious.

"Last night, I had a phone call with Aiden."

Hearing this, Isabella's heart sank.

Oh no!

She had kept the pregnancy agreement a secret from Daniel and hadn't told the Brown Family about her pregnancy. She never expected Daniel to contact Aiden on his own.

"I only found out last night that Aiden doesn't know you and Michael have reconciled. He doesn't even know about your pregnancy."

Daniel frowned and took Isabella's hand, asking, "Tell me the truth. Why are you hiding the pregnancy from Aiden? Did you forget, or do you have other plans?"

Daniel's expression grew more uneasy, especially as he asked the last question. Isabella could see the doubt in his eyes.

"Oh, Grandpa Daniel, there you go again!"

Isabella sighed helplessly. Since Daniel wanted to know, she would tell him.

"Michael and I are both eagerly anticipating this baby. You know we've been trying for so long. Now that I'm finally pregnant, we're being extra careful. I was just so happy to share the news with you that I forgot about Grandpa Aiden."

Isabella smiled apologetically, her eyes filled with guilt towards Aiden.

Although her words contained some untruths, her guilt towards Aiden was genuine.

Seeing her anxious expression, Daniel finally nodded, "If you just forgot, then go visit him. Bring some gifts and share the good news with Aiden."

"Our Wilson Family has a rule: we must observe proper etiquette in everything, so no one can find fault with us."

Isabella bit her lip, listening to Daniel's words, and could only agree.

"Alright, I'll prepare and visit Grandpa Aiden in the next couple of days."

Knowing she couldn't avoid it, Isabella just hoped Daniel wouldn't find any other flaws.

She then pointed to the sunny garden outside, "Grandpa, let's go sit in the gazebo. It's been a while since we played chess together. How about a game today?"

"With your skills, you dare to challenge me? If you lose, no complaining."

"Grandpa, you're underestimating me. I might win!"

The Wilson Family garden was filled with laughter.

Meanwhile, the Brown Villa was shrouded in gloom.

The servants stood cautiously in the corners, not daring to speak.

From a distance, a loud "bang" was heard from the study!

Aiden slammed the documents Felix had brought onto the table, shaking with anger.

"Felix, tell me, is all this true?"
