Chapter 31
Daniel only had one daughter, Grace.
Isabella disappeared for three years, and even many high-level executives and board members within the company had never seen this rumored heir of the Wilson Family.
People speculated that, despite being Daniel's granddaughter, Isabella had no real authority.
She was just a figurehead.
Otherwise, how could Isabella have no news for three years and suddenly appear now?
Some even guessed that this Isabella might not be Daniel's granddaughter at all, but rather a woman Daniel found outside to pose as his granddaughter.
Daniel thought it would sound bad if the truth got out, so he deliberately fabricated this false identity.
No one knew what the two of them were doing behind the scenes.
The men present laughed a couple of times, exchanging glances.
After all, Daniel made his name and fortune through gambling.
Decades ago, the borders of Valoria were not as strictly managed as they were now, and local powers could practically rule their own territories.
They had absolute control.
Daniel, young and ambitious at the time, was recruited by a local overlord because of his impressive skills and became part of his family.
Later, Daniel successfully took over the local power.
In the following decade, Daniel foresaw the changing landscape and transitioned early, founding the Wilson Group with his close associates.
Daniel grew the company into a powerhouse, becoming the undisputed overlord of eastern Valoria with his strong capabilities and exceptional foresight.
In eastern Valoria, the Wilson Family was enough to instill fear.
Most of the board members in the group were friends who had fought alongside Daniel. They had mostly not received formal education and were used to a life without oversight from a young age.
After years of good times, they had changed.
They relied on their long tenure in the company to act arrogantly, often hiring people unrelated to the work for the sake of personal connections.
Over time, this led to various conflicts within the Wilson Group.
After the earlier speculations, no one took Isabella seriously.
Some even said, "A woman who only knows how to serve men, how dare she take over the entire Wilson Group."
Before the words even settled, there was a loud thud.
A man was kicked into the wall and then rolled to the ground.
The entire conference room fell silent.
Everyone's eyes turned to Isabella, who had suddenly entered the room.
Isabella was dressed in a white suit, with a matching pencil skirt that accentuated her graceful curves and slender legs.
Her curly hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her exquisite eye makeup and bold red lips exuded a domineering aura similar to Daniel's.
Everyone realized her identity.
They didn't dare to make a sound because they saw the man standing behind Isabella.
It was Chris, Daniel's trusted subordinate for many years.
Many of Daniel's orders were issued through him.
Chris's presence was enough to represent Daniel's intentions.
Isabella coldly glanced at the man on the ground who couldn't get up, "Chris, this man is no longer needed in the company. Make him disappear from the Wilson Group."
"Yes, Ms. Taylor."
"You dare to fire me?" Barry Myers struggled to stand up, leaning against the wall. He recognized who she was and, thinking about the kick just now, his face turned pale with anger.
Barry had always been arrogant in the company, and no one had ever dared to speak to him like that.
Even Daniel would give him some face for old times' sake.
"Open your eyes and see clearly. When I was facing danger with Mr. Wilson, you didn't even know where you were." Barry said.
Isabella sneered. Before she came, Chris had already given her the personnel list.
She walked up to Barry, looking down at him with cold eyes, her high heels clicking on the floor. "If it weren't for your relationship with my grandfather, you would be lying in a hospital right now. Either I shut your mouth, or I shut you down!"
Isabella's voice was calm, but the inherent threat in her words sent chills down everyone's spine.
After all, they knew very well who was backing her, given that she could bring Chris along.
Barry on the ground clearly didn't expect Isabella to be so tough. He leaned against the wall with one hand and held his waist with the other, trembling as he walked out, not forgetting to leave a parting shot, "Don't get too cocky. I won't let you off."
Isabella didn't even bother to look at him.
Before getting married, she had been through a lot.
No one in the Wilson Family was raised to be easily intimidated.
Then she calmly walked to the main seat, and Chris efficiently pulled out the chair for her.
Isabella sat down confidently, her hands folded on the table, wearing the family crest ring that symbolized the highest status in the Wilson Family on her index finger.
The dazzling sapphire reflected light into everyone's eyes.
Everyone gasped.
That was Daniel's ring.
It was also the symbol of the next heir to the Wilson Group.
Daniel hadn't even considered his own sons, and now he had truly given the heir position to Isabella?
Isabella looked like she was just in her early twenties.
But the dominance and coldness in her eyes made everyone below not dare to speak.
If they really opposed her, they didn't have much substantial power in their hands. If their shares were stripped away, they would have nothing left.
Isabella glanced around.
She tapped the table lightly and said coldly, "I've already familiarized myself with your identities. You should have guessed who I am. Let me formally introduce myself. My name is Isabella, and I am the granddaughter of Chairman Daniel. From today onwards, I will be the president of the Wilson Group."
Then Isabella's gaze swept around the room, her calm demeanor carrying a sharp edge, every move reminiscent of Daniel. "If you have any questions, you can ask them now. I don't like scheming behind my back."
From beginning to end, Chris stood respectfully behind Isabella.
He only leaned in to listen when Isabella gave him instructions.
Now everyone believed that Isabella was indeed Daniel's granddaughter.
She didn't even blink when she kicked Barry out, and Chris didn't even ask for a reason, just followed orders.
It was clear that Daniel had made up his mind.
Isabella was the future head of the Wilson Group.
With this identity, who would dare to oppose Isabella? It would be courting death.
Seeing no one speak, Isabella glanced at the time and signaled to Chris.
The meeting officially began.
Chris, who was very familiar with the company's internal affairs, quickly directed everyone's attention to the crisis of the Wilson Group's expansion into southern Valoria.
