Chapter 336
Nolan was with him.
Even though the two brothers looked a lot alike, she could instantly tell who she had saved from the sea that day.
It was also that day she remembered they had met briefly before, just before her grandfather took her away.
After getting home that day, she had a thought.
She wanted to marry Michael.
She did everything she could to convince her grandfather and uncles, declaring Michael as her one and only.
She would marry no one but him.
Everything that happened afterward was her wishful thinking. She believed Michael would realize she had saved his life and see her differently.
But in the end, she loved the wrong person and ended up in this situation.
Now, she just wanted to forget everything. Forget all the memories with him.
Even the life-saving moment at Moon Bay, she wanted to erase it all.
Before leaving, Isabella retrieved a box she had left at the Moon Bay management office.
Inside the box was the little bear charm she had pulled from Michael that day.
She had discovered it in her hand when she got home and had kept it with her all these years.
Until just before her wedding, she stored it here, hoping Michael would remember her without needing any proof.
But he never did.
So, she chose to make peace with herself and let go of the past.
She took the charm out, walked a few steps towards the beach, and threw it into the sea with all her might.
"Goodbye, Michael."
From today, she decided to let go.
Isabella turned to Shadow and said, "Alright, we can go now."
Shadow, who had been by her side the whole time, nodded and led her to the car. They drove away from the place.
Five minutes later, a black SUV sped towards the beach and stopped exactly where Isabella had just left.
Michael looked around but saw no sign of Isabella.
Just as he thought he might have come to the wrong place, a familiar object caught his eye.
A silver charm was washed up on the beach by the waves.
Could it be?
Michael's eyes tightened as he quickly ran over, not caring that the water soaked his shoes.
When he held the charm tightly in his hand, he confirmed it was the little bear charm he had lost.
He remembered it clearly.
His father had bought it for him during a trip to Europe, and he had loved it, carrying it with him every day.
Until the day he almost drowned at the beach. Someone saved him, but the charm was lost.
After his father's unfortunate accident, he wanted to find the charm even more, as a memory of his father.
He had always thought Bianca had it, as she was the first person he saw when he woke up on the beach.
He had asked Bianca for it several times.
But Bianca always had excuses, eventually saying it was lost over time.
Now, the charm reappeared at Moon Bay, which made no sense.
Unless...
Michael's eyes flashed. Unless someone had just thrown it into the sea, and the waves brought it back.
And judging by its well-preserved condition, it must have been thrown in recently.
He hadn't untied Bianca before coming here, so it couldn't have been her.
Thinking back, every time he mentioned the incident at Moon Bay, Bianca would quickly change the subject.
Now he realized he had mistaken the person all along.
Bianca had just happened to be there.
Who else could have come here?
Michael's heart started pounding.
Could it be her?
If it was Isabella, why hadn't she mentioned it all these years?
If it wasn't her, who else could it be?
Just then, his phone rang.
Seeing the number, Michael quickly answered, hearing the urgent voice on the other end.
"Mr. Brown, she escaped while we weren't looking."
"Who?"
Michael had a bad feeling. If it wasn't someone important, the bodyguard wouldn't be so nervous.
Sure enough, the next second, he heard a familiar name.
"It was that woman, Bianca."
Michael's face darkened. "Find her, no matter what it takes!"
Bianca had admitted the Adri Family was behind everything. Letting her go was like leaving a ticking time bomb.
He had to bring her back.
He wouldn't allow anyone to harm Isabella and their child.
Meanwhile, Shadow took Isabella to a cozy roadside diner and ordered her some hot soup and a main course.
As soon as they sat down, Isabella borrowed his phone to call Atticus and let him know she was safe.
Hearing Isabella's voice, Atticus finally relaxed. "Isabella, as long as you and the baby are okay, I'm relieved."
"Okay, Uncle Atticus, I'll be back soon. Please don't tell Grandpa about the kidnapping."
Isabella was about to hang up when Atticus sighed softly.
Isabella paused, thinking she had misheard, but then Atticus spoke in a hoarse voice.
"Isabella, your grandfather already knows. He's in the hospital now."
Isabella felt her world collapse.
Atticus hadn't wanted to tell him.
But somehow, the Wilson Family found out and informed Daniel about Isabella's kidnapping.
Daniel, who cherished Isabella like a treasure, fainted upon hearing the news.
He had left all the bodyguards to continue searching for Isabella and rushed to the hospital, where Daniel was now in surgery.
Fortunately, Isabella returned safely. Otherwise, Atticus wouldn't know what to do.
"I'll be there right away."
Isabella hung up the phone.
At the hospital, Atticus stared at the surgery light that had been on for half an hour, his eyes red despite his usual stoic demeanor.
Holden walked over with various test results, his heart in knots.
Hearing Atticus call off the search for Isabella, he rushed over, fearing the worst. "Atticus, what happened? Is Isabella..."
"Holden, don't worry."
Atticus patted Holden's shoulder, interrupting his thoughts. "Isabella is fine. She's on her way to the hospital now."
