Chapter 109
Isabella was at her wit's end. "Indigo, do you even hear yourself? If you can't say anything nice, just shut up."
She really didn't have the energy to watch him put on a show.
Indigo, seeing Isabella's displeasure, quickly changed his approach.
With a very humble demeanor, he said, "Isabella, what I mean is, no matter what, we are still family. Our blood ties can't be severed. I love you, and you will always be my best daughter."
Isabella smiled sarcastically. "If I'm your good daughter, then what about Bianca, whom you were just asking me for?"
These two treat Bianca like a treasure when they need her, but when they can't find her, they start eyeing Isabella's money.
Did they really think she was so gullible that a few sweet words would make her give them money?
Harper was also taken aback and grabbed Indigo's arm, cursing, "Indigo, what did you tell me when we came here? Bianca can't be found, and you're still putting on this act?"
Indigo frowned and slapped Harper's hand away in disgust. "Do I need to explain myself to you? Stop interfering with me."
He pushed Harper aside and sat down in front of Isabella.
With a fawning expression, he said, "Isabella, I've thought it through. Bianca is too disobedient and always does things that make people worry. I can't save her, but I still have you."
"Don't worry, I can swear in front of you that from now on, you are my only daughter. Isabella, can you just forget about the past?" Indigo spoke very sincerely.
Afraid that Isabella wouldn't believe him, he added, "Even if we find Bianca, I won't acknowledge her anymore. She caused us to be in this situation. I don't want to see her ever again. Even if she dies out there, I won't care."
Isabella looked at Indigo's self-talk with a blank expression, feeling no emotional stirrings.
Because he had said these same words to her before, but he had forgotten all about it.
"Indigo, how dare you curse Bianca to die? You're too much." Harper was first shocked, then furious. "Isabella is your daughter, but isn't Bianca too?"
As if suddenly realizing something, Harper shook her head and sneered. "I get it. You think Bianca can't climb up the Brown Family anymore, so you've shifted your target to Isabella, that bitch, right? Indigo, I must have been blind back then to rely on a man like you, who can only depend on women. When you were young, you relied on Grace, and now you rely on Isabella. You're truly a useless man."
Having his true intentions exposed, Indigo became furious.
He glanced at Isabella and quickly denied it. "Don't talk nonsense. I never said Bianca isn't my daughter. She ran away from home and went missing, offending people she shouldn't have. It's her own fault. Who else can she blame?"
To prove himself, Indigo's eyes widened with excitement.
Harper wasn't backing down either. The two of them started arguing back and forth.
Isabella had initially wanted to send them away and get back to work.
But seeing the current scene, she wasn't in a hurry to leave.
One was her biological father, Indigo, who had ignored her for years, and the other was Harper, whom she hated the most. Watching them fight in front of her was quite a show.
But after watching for a while, she realized they were just exchanging the same insults, and it was getting boring.
So she decided to stir the pot a bit. "Bianca is actually with Michael."
Hearing this, Indigo and Harper immediately stopped.
Isabella took the opportunity to throw this big problem onto Michael. "Bianca caused trouble to me, and I was going to deal with her, but Michael hid her away first. You're looking in the wrong place. Bianca is with him."
Unexpectedly, Harper became even more aggressive. "I knew it. Bianca is too soft-hearted. Everything that belonged to her was taken by you, and now you even want to take Michael!"
With a cold snort, Harper continued, "Thanks God, even if you take Michael, his heart is still with our Bianca. You ended up divorced despite all your efforts. I advise you to let go. What's not yours will never be yours, no matter how thick-skinned you are."
Harper's accusations left Isabella stunned.
She was eager to push Michael away. It was Michael who refused to divorce her, and he even conspired with Daniel to force her to have his child. There was no man more detestable than him.
But before she could speak, Indigo grabbed Harper's hand. "Honey, is what you said true?"
He looked anxious. "So Bianca was taken by Michael for protection. Why didn't you tell me earlier? You know how much I suffer when Bianca is missing."
"You're so fake!" Harper, seeing through Indigo, pushed him away in disgust. "Just now, you wished Bianca dead. Now that you know Michael cares for her, you're playing innocent. Indigo, aren't you ashamed of your own words?"
"I'm calling Michael right now to have him bring Bianca home. Once she's back, we're getting a divorce!" Knowing that Michael was protecting Bianca, Harper felt emboldened.
She took out her phone and dialed.
But after several attempts, no one answered.
By the eighth call, still hearing the busy tone, Harper's face turned awkward. "Maybe Michael is busy with work. He's the CEO of the Brown Group, after all. He can't always be looking at his phone. He'll call me back when he sees the missed calls. And then, Indigo, you'll be packing your things and getting kicked out."
Isabella chimed in, "How about I try calling him?"
She wasn't being kind; she also wanted to see if Michael would bring Bianca out.
She had been looking for Bianca for too long.
This grudge couldn't be settled just because Bianca disappeared for a few days.
Harper glanced at her and said, "He's so busy he won't even take my calls. Do you think he'll answer a call from a woman he's divorced?"
Before she could finish, a deep, sexy male voice came from the phone. "What do you want? Have you figured out what I said yesterday?"
It was Michael, the man Harper claimed was too busy to take her calls, answering.
