Chapter 312

Isabella just finished a call with Michael when Atticus called.

"Isabella, when is your next prenatal check-up?"

Atticus's voice sounded urgent, as if something had happened.

Isabella was puzzled. Michael had just called her about the prenatal check-up, and now Atticus was asking the same question. What was going on?

But Isabella never hid anything from Atticus. "It's in the next few days. I've already made an appointment with the hospital. It's just a simple check-up."

Isabella didn't mention Michael. Atticus had always been hostile towards him, and it wouldn't be good if they ran into each other and started a fight.

After all, the last time Atticus and Holden ended up beating him up. She needed to be careful.

"If it's nothing serious, let the doctor come to the house for the check-up. You won't have to go through the trouble then."

Mainly, it would also put his mind at ease.

They had just received news that someone was planning to harm Isabella.

No matter what, Isabella and the baby couldn't be put in danger. He would protect her at all costs.

Isabella wasn't clueless. Atticus's sudden vigilance indicated that something was wrong.

"Uncle Atticus, what's going on?"

Going to the hospital for a prenatal check-up wasn't a small matter. The checks that could be done at home were limited. So the normal Atticus wouldn't have said that.

As she expected, Atticus was silent for a moment on the other end of the line.

Then he told her the truth. "Isabella, Holden found out that someone is still tracking your movements. Someone has offered a high price for information about your trip to the hospital for a check-up."

"This is too dangerous for you. I don't feel comfortable with you going to the hospital, so let's do the check-ups at home for now. I'll get whatever you need."

There were too many people at the hospital, and the bodyguards couldn't be by Isabella's side all the time.

Atticus couldn't risk Isabella's safety.

The baby was still small, and he cared more about Isabella's safety.

If buying some equipment could solve the problem of the check-up, it wouldn't be a problem for him at all.

"Uncle Atticus, this is too much trouble. The equipment for the check-up isn't something you can just buy easily. Besides, I'm only doing a few periodic check-ups. It won't take long."

"Plus, you and Uncle Holden have already sent so many people to protect me. I'm just going out for a bit; nothing will happen."

Isabella still wanted to go to the hospital for the check-up herself. Not only were there experienced doctors there, but she had also promised Michael that she would agree to let him accompany her to the hospital for the check-up.

If she suddenly changed her mind, she was worried he would come straight to her!

And as her belly grew bigger, the opportunities to be with Michael would become fewer. She knew they would eventually divorce, so she cherished the time they had now.

"Isabella, I'm serious. If they can find out which hospital you're going to for the check-up, it means they might have already set up an ambush and are just waiting for you to show up. I can't let you fall into the trap..."

Before Atticus could finish, Isabella interrupted him. "Uncle Atticus, I forgot to tell you, Michael will be there too."

She hadn't wanted to mention this.

But now she had no choice.

Michael's influence was no less than the Wilson Family's, so if he accompanied her, Atticus might feel more at ease.

This way, she wouldn't have to explain to Michael why she couldn't go to the hospital.

Sure enough, Atticus fell silent on the other end of the line.

Michael again!

Atticus knew exactly what that bastard Michael was thinking.

But Isabella was so infatuated with him that they hadn't divorced yet. In the end, both of them were waiting for an opportunity.

Thinking back to Michael's genuine concern during the explosion incident, Atticus had to give in.

It was clear that Michael had feelings for Isabella. If it weren't for that, he wouldn't have allowed Michael to get close to Isabella again.

And as the father of the baby in Isabella's belly, Michael was the most suitable person to accompany her into the examination room. With him there, it was indeed the safest.

Not only did the baby need Michael, but Isabella also needed her husband's companionship during this special time.

He sighed and agreed, "Alright, take more people with you when you go. If anything feels off, leave immediately."

He would also add more people around the hospital to ensure Isabella's safety.

With the Wilson Family's background and influence in Evergreen City, if it came to a confrontation, he bet those people wouldn't dare to face them head-on.

"Okay, I know. Don't worry."

Isabella felt warm inside. She said a few more words to Atticus before hanging up the phone.

The next day, at Glamour Oasis.

Renee suddenly received a call. "I've sent you Isabella's itinerary. She will be at the hospital's obstetrics department the day after tomorrow at noon. You know what to do, right?"

The call was from Bianca, but hearing the content, Renee couldn't help but grip her phone tightly.

She had guessed they would target Isabella, but she didn't expect it to happen so quickly.

Renee took a deep breath, not letting Bianca sense anything amiss. "Yes, I understand. I'll arrange for people to get in."

"Good, don't disappoint me!"

Bianca snorted coldly, sounding both like a warning and a threat.

Renee didn't respond, just replied indifferently, "Got it," and hung up the phone.

Ever since Bianca regained her freedom, Renee had guessed she wouldn't let Isabella go. After the explosion incident, she feared Bianca would become more ruthless each time.

But that didn't mean Renee was willing to be a tool in Bianca's hands to harm innocent people.

That's why Renee had said those things to Isabella and given her the handkerchief, letting Aaron convey her true feelings.

But why was Isabella still going to the hospital? Could it be that Aaron didn't tell Isabella about this?

Impossible, he had already figured it out!

Where did things go wrong?

She had originally planned to find Aaron and ask him indirectly, but for some reason, Aaron hadn't shown up all day.

It was as if he had disappeared from her sight.

Renee couldn't help but feel anxious.

She walked to her desk, took out a small, delicate USB drive, and rubbed it in her hand.

Inside it contained evidence of her resistance against that person.

It was her last resort.

She couldn't take it out unless absolutely necessary.

For now, her priority was to save Isabella.

She couldn't intervene in major incidents like the one at Elysian Bridge, nor could she stop them.

But this time, she didn't want innocent people to get involved, and she didn't want her hands stained with blood. She couldn't bring herself to harm others.
