Chapter 152
In the living room, Atticus was no longer sleepy, sitting on the couch with a headache.
The soft touch Olivia left on the corner of his mouth still lingered.
He seemed to have been too harsh just now, which scared her to tears.
But thinking about her motives and boldness, he couldn't help but frown deeply.
She was getting crazier by the day; she didn't care about her own identity at all. How old was she to dare to throw herself at a man? What if it was someone else?
But what surprised him even more was that Olivia, who had been entangled with him for years, turned out to be Isabella's good friend.
The next morning, when Isabella came downstairs, she didn't see Atticus and thought he had left.
She had just walked into the kitchen to make some breakfast when she saw Atticus coming in from outside, still in the same clothes, but it was clear he had been out for a morning run.
"Isabella, morning."
"Morning, Uncle Atticus. Breakfast will be ready soon. Go freshen up first."
Atticus responded with a hum and went to the bathroom.
He had designed the layout of this villa himself, so he knew the layout better than anyone.
At this moment, Olivia also came out of the guest room.
Her eyes instinctively glanced at the couch, noticing that Atticus was gone, feeling a mix of disappointment and discomfort.
Isabella was stunned when she saw Olivia. Her eyes were red and swollen, as if she had been crying all night.
"Olivia, how are you going to shoot like this?" Isabella felt both heartache and helplessness. "Why don't you tell your agent and take another day off to rest?"
Olivia shook her head directly. "If I dare to take a day off at this critical time, Kaylee will kill me. She's like a working mashine , never resting herself and not letting others rest either. When I finish this movie, I'll definitely ask the company to replace her. She values money over life."
Isabella smiled helplessly.
Kaylee Porter was Olivia's agent, who had been with Olivia since her debut, and it could be said that half of Olivia's fame was due to Kaylee's planning.
Olivia couldn't bear to replace Kaylee. She was just venting, but in reality, she relied on Kaylee more than anyone.
"Alright, stop throwing a tantrum. Every time you go to a night shoot, it's Kaylee who helps you. She's been the one who has always tolerated and cared for you all these years. If you're really not feeling well, just tell Kaylee. She won't force you," Isabella spoke seriously, who could see that Olivia's health was really not good.
If Olivia went to the set in this state, she might be in the headlines within three minutes.
"I know, I know clearly my health." Olivia's voice lowered. "I'll leave after breakfast."
She didn't want to stay in a house with Atticus' shadow. Thinking about last night's scene made her want to cry.
Just as she thought about Atticus, he came out of the bathroom, his voice warm and strong. "Isabella, I know this place well. Let me handle breakfast."
Hearing his voice, Olivia froze completely.
"No need, Uncle Atticus. I heated some milk and made sandwiches. Just have something simple," As she spoke, the appliance beeped.
Isabella turned to get it, divided the food into three portions, and brought them to the table, pouring milk for everyone.
As an actress, Olivia had to maintain her weight, so there were some foods she couldn't touch, only eating low-calorie foods.
Isabella thought Atticus might mind, but he picked up a sandwich and started eating.
Seeing that, Isabella breathed a sigh of relief.
Little did she know, Atticus' attention was entirely on Olivia, whose eyes were swollen across the table.
Olivia was already extremely nervous. When she noticed Atticus staring at her, she didn't know where to put her hands. She grabbed her cup and took small sips of milk.
Seeing this, Isabella thought Atticus was curious about Olivia's identity, so she introduced them, "Olivia, this is my uncle, Atticus. Uncle Atticus, Olivia is my best friend."
"Okay," The two spoke in unison, unexpectedly in sync.
Olivia's face turned blush as expected, and she didn't dare to lift her head.
After breakfast, Atticus was about to leave, who had things to do and couldn't stay.
Isabella suddenly remembered that his direction was the same as Olivia's, so she spoke up, "Uncle Atticus, Olivia didn't drive here, and she's in a hurry to get to the set. I don't know the way. Can you take her for me?"
Not only was Atticus stunned, but Olivia, who was eating with her head down, was also shocked.
She looked up sharply, meeting Atticus' hesitant gaze.
"Would you like to ride in my car?" If it were before, he could understand Olivia's thoughts, but after last night, he didn't dare to guess.
Olivia swallowed the last sip of milk and stood up. "Yes"
Her voice was so loud that it startled Isabella.
Since Isabella suggested it, Atticus couldn't refuse. He nodded and walked out the door first.
Behind him, Olivia quickly grabbed her purse from the room and waved to Isabella. "Isabella, I'm leaving. Call me if you need anything."
Isabella watched Olivia, who was suddenly full of energy, thinking she had forgotten about last night.
She replied, "Okay."
Outside the door, a black Maybach was parked by the roadside.
Without thinking, Olivia opened the passenger door and got in before Atticus could speak.
She fastened her seatbelt, and the car sped away.
Neither of them spoke along the way, and the silence was somewhat eerie.
Seeing Atticus, whom she loved deeply, sitting beside her, Olivia couldn't help but think of last night's scene, which she had unbuttoned his shirt and touched his abs.
Just as she was fantasizing about the next step, a cold voice broke the silence in the car. "I can pretend you were drunk last night and that nothing happened."
Olivia was still young and could forget about this and start a new relationship.
And Atticus, being old enough to be her elder, shouldn't let her continue down the wrong path.
But Olivia didn't think so. She had finally made some progress with him. Why should she forget just because he said so?
She wasn't a robot. How could she delete things from her mind just like that?
Besides, she could savor that kiss for a long time.
She was furious and turned to ask him angrily. "Atticus, why are you so heartless?"
Atticus was focused on driving. Hearing her question, he knew she was angry. His eyes twitched slightly, and he gave an answer that didn't match his identity. "Yes."
Olivia didn't expect him to be so shameless, her face turning blush with anger. "No wonder you're so cold, no matter how much warmth you get. You deserve to be single."
