Chapter 351
Isabella never thought Renee would be the one to find all these clues.
Renee was on Bianca's side, after all.
Isabella had always known that, so she never pushed Renee to join her side.
When Isabella saved Renee at the mall entrance and brought her back to the Wilson family, it was just a coincidence.
She never intended to force Renee. Even if she had considered persuading her, she never brought it up.
During their time together, Isabella had come to see Renee as a real friend.
Now, without saying a word, Renee was looking out for her, even while recovering from her own injuries, searching for clues on Isabella's behalf.
Isabella was deeply moved.
Maybe she could try talking to Renee about joining her side.
Meanwhile...
After discussing everything with Atticus, Renee slowly wheeled herself towards the main hall.
It wasn't until she realized what she had done that she broke out in a cold sweat.
How could she forget her own identity?
She was sent by the Adri family to work for Bianca.
Renee closed her eyes in pain, stopping her movements, and buried her face in her hands.
She didn't regret helping Isabella find evidence.
But she hadn't forgotten the Adri family's methods. She might escape unscathed, but what about her family?
Her mother was still under their surveillance. The Adri family already considered her a traitor. If they couldn't find her, what would happen to her mother?
She didn't dare to think too deeply about it.
Once she recovered, she needed to return to her mother as soon as possible and find a way to take her away.
As Renee was planning her next steps, she heard footsteps outside the hall.
At this time, everyone was in the main hall mourning Daniel, so hardly anyone would come to the main hall.
She composed herself and opened the door, only to see a tall, stern figure walking in against the light.
Renee didn't recognize him, but the man introduced himself.
"I'm Michael Brown."
Hearing the name, Renee was stunned for a second.
She hadn't met him many times, mostly hearing about him from Aaron, who often mentioned his boss and his past with Isabella.
Over time, she remembered.
Renee assumed he was here to see Isabella. After all, with such a big event, it wouldn't make sense for him not to show up as the baby's father.
"Mr. Brown, you must be here to see Isabella. She's..."
Before Renee could finish, Michael's deep voice interrupted her.
"Renee, I'm here to see you!"
Michael got straight to the point. "I have something to discuss with you."
After being rejected by Isabella, he should have left with Aiden, but he couldn't shake the uneasy feeling.
So he had the driver stop the car and returned to the Wilson family.
The once-crowded funeral was now almost empty, which Michael found strange, so he decided to ask around.
He spotted Renee sitting in the hall, lost in thought.
He had been wanting to talk to this defector from the Adri family, but Isabella had always stopped him.
Now he had the chance.
Renee frowned when she heard Michael was there to see her.
Didn't he know Isabella was in the hospital?
Why would he want to chat with her?
Besides, he was Aaron's boss. She and Aaron had already made things clear, so there was nothing left to say to Michael.
"Mr. Brown, I don't get it. I'm just someone down on my luck, relying on friends for help. I don't think we have anything to talk about."
Despite Michael's status, Renee didn't give him any courtesy.
They had no mutual interests, and she didn't need his help. The only thing they could talk about was Aaron.
Michael didn't miss the opportunity. "The day you were attacked, I had sent Aaron abroad for business. That's why he missed your call, causing your misunderstanding. I owe you both an apology."
Renee raised an eyebrow. Michael, the president of the Brown Group and heir to the Brown family's century-old legacy, was speaking up for his assistant? Instead of being aloof and indifferent?
This surprised her.
She recalled what Aaron had said to her. "So, Mr. Brown, it's Aaron asking you to be here?"
Michael shook his head lightly. "He doesn't know I'm here. He returned abroad for business last night."
"He's gone again."
Renee muttered softly, then looked at Michael, understanding why he was there.
It wasn't because of Aaron or Isabella. It had to be about her identity.
But she wouldn't discuss that with an outsider.
"Thank you, Mr. Brown, for coming to tell me this. I know now. My injury has nothing to do with anyone else, and I don't blame him."
"Mr. Brown, please leave."
Renee wheeled herself away, but before leaving, she wanted to remind Michael. She could see Isabella cared about him.
Isabella was in the hospital and needed support.
"Mr. Brown, as an outsider, I think it's necessary to remind you to go see the Wilson family. Don't wait until it's too late to make amends."
As an outsider recovering at the Wilson family, she couldn't say much.
Michael had to take action himself.
And she needed to get to the hospital.
With nothing left at the Wilson family, and no news from Isabella, she was worried.
If that female "servant" was really sent by the Adri family, Isabella's unborn child would be in danger.
Renee left quickly, not giving Michael a chance to ask more.
Michael found it strange, but his unease had brought him back here, and he hadn't seen Isabella.
Renee's words, "Don't wait until it's too late," made him even more anxious.
He hurried to the main hall.
Inside, only Atticus remained, standing before Daniel's portrait, his posture straight and expression stern.
Michael approached, glanced at Daniel's photo, and stood behind Atticus.
Seeing Michael, Atticus gave him a cold look. "Why are you standing here?"
"Isabella has already told you she wants a divorce. Given your current status, it's inappropriate for you to stand before the Wilson family. Leave!"
