Chapter 24
Michael and Isabella looked so close it seemed like they were about to kiss.
Michael stared at her flushed face, his voice hoarse, "Don't blame me for not telling you, no one but me can get Sean to do anything."
"What do you want?" Isabella stared at him.
"Beg me!"
"Michael, you really are shameless." Isabella felt helpless.
Even at this point, he still wanted to humiliate her.
Isabella raised her hand to push Michael away, but he firmly grabbed her wrist, lifting it above her head.
It was just like their actions last night.
Unable to move her hand, Isabella lifted her leg.
Michael seemed to see through her, his tall figure pressing down, easily pinning Isabella in his arms.
They were even closer now.
Isabella couldn't ignore the change in Michael's body.
Someone could walk by the hallway at any moment, and Isabella's face was flushed with anger. "Michael, this is a hospital. If you want to have sex, go find Bianca. Don't touch me."
Michael's expression remained indifferent as he warned her, "If you don't want Daniel to know we're not getting along, you can speak a little louder."
Isabella bit her lips tightly.
He was doing it on purpose.
But that didn't mean she would just give in, "Michael, if it's not money, then what do you want?"
"If you were my wife, you will only have to ask. But if you insist on distancing yourself from me, I have no reason to help an outsider." Michael's words were clear.
If Isabella insisted on divorcing him, he wouldn't help her even if he could.
She suddenly laughed.
He was Michael, the most distinguished and powerful man in Evergreen City.
He could easily crush someone's hope.
But he clearly didn't love her, so why couldn't he just let her go?
"Michael, I don't understand. We've been married for three years, and you've never looked at me properly. Now that I've finally decided to let you go, you disagree. Do you find it fulfilling to toy with other people's feelings?" Isabella felt bitter.
He didn't want her, yet he wouldn't let her go.
How long did he plan to torment her?
The hurt in Isabella's eyes stung Michael's heart.
He didn't understand why her sadness made him feel so uncomfortable.
But one thing was clear.
He didn't plan to let her go.
"Why should I agree?" Michael's face darkened, "Isabella, do you think I'm some toy you can discard at will?"
He suddenly let go of her, stepping back, exuding a cold aura. "The position of Mrs. Brown was something you begged for with the marriage contract. Now, it's not up to you to end it."
Isabella understood.
Michael didn't have feelings for her; he was just unwilling to accept it.
She had been the one in control of this marriage from the start.
It hurt his pride.
Especially since he already had someone in his heart. She had taken Bianca's place, and it was a wonder he didn't hate her more.
She had naively thought he would help her for the sake of their three years of marriage.
Michael gave a direct order, "I'm giving you one last chance. Do you want to come back to me?"
With that, he turned and left.
Isabella stood there, the cold wall keeping her clear-headed.
But the grievance of being bullied by Michael made her eyes wet.
She didn't want anyone to see her vulnerable side, so she bit her lip tightly, not letting the tears fall.
She was the daughter of the Wilson Family; she had never shed tears easily.
The word "surrender" was never in her life motto.
Just then, Thomas called. "Isabella, the lawyer is ready. Are you sure?"
He was referring to Isabella and Michael's divorce.
"Yes!" Isabella took a deep breath, "Thomas, I've made up my mind. I want to divorce him."
After ending the call, Isabella walked outside and made another call.
Soon, Ethan appeared by her side, standing behind her, "Ms. Taylor!"
Isabella instructed him, "Send our people out to find Sean. If he won't accept a high price, then bring him here by force, but don't hurt him."
Time was running out. Since Michael wouldn't help her, she had to find a way herself.
No matter what it took, she had to bring Sean here.
Daniel's illness couldn't wait any longer.
"Yes, I'll get right on it." Ethan's eyes lit up. He had a feeling that the decisive Isabella from years ago was coming back.
But Isabella didn't expect Daniel to suddenly fall into a coma.
That night, Daniel's most trusted subordinate, Chris Diaz, called Isabella.
He asked her to return to the Wilson Group to take charge, to prevent any upheaval within the company due to this incident.
"What about my uncles?" Isabella didn't expect things to change so suddenly.
Chris sighed, "You know, they have no interest in Mr. Daniel Wilson's business. Now they're all abroad and can't come back. The only one left is Mr. Thomas Wilson, but..."
Isabella knew Thomas's temperament.
His ambitions lay elsewhere.
Chris also felt it was difficult for Isabella, but there was no other way now. "Ms. Taylor, you are Mr. Daniel Wilson's chosen successor. Now that Mr. Daniel Wilson is seriously ill, the Wilson Group is in your hands."
Back then, Isabella had voluntarily married into the Brown Family for the Wilson Family, helping them in their toughest times.
At that time, Daniel had already planned to hand over his business to her.
But Isabella had stepped back for Michael, and Daniel had hoped she would have a child, so the matter was never brought up again.
Now...
Isabella didn't hesitate. The Wilson Family's matters were her responsibility, "Chris, I'll be there tomorrow."
"By the way, Ms. Taylor, there's something you need to know." Chris said, "The Wilson Group has been expanding from the East to the South in recent years. But due to Mr. Wilson's worsening condition and your three-year absence, the Wilson Group's stock has been highly volatile. Recently, the Brown Group has been making moves, trying to seize our resources and planning a takeover."
At the mention of the Brown Group, Isabella felt like her lungs were about to explode with anger.
That scoundrel Michael dared to touch the Wilson Family's business!
After hanging up, Isabella called Ethan, "Have you found Sean?"
Ethan reported, "Ms. Taylor, Michael's people took Sean before we could."
Michael again!
Isabella was furious. She would see what Michael was up to.
The next day.
Isabella went straight to the Brown Group building.
Slamming the door of her fiery red sports car, she took off her sunglasses and walked in, high heels clicking.
She wanted to confront Michael face-to-face and ask if he was determined to go against her.
"Where's Michael?" Isabella went straight to the reception desk.
The receptionist glanced at her and then continued with her work as if nothing had happened.
She even secretly mocked, "It's funny how some people think that just because they're rich and good-looking, they can have something with Mr. Brown. Do they even know who Mr. Brown is?"
