Chapter 276
Michael felt a tightness in his lower abdomen, suppressing his desire, and only kissed her lips. It was only at this moment that he was willing to show his true feelings.
"Isabella, you start it. Don't think I'll let go again."
Just as the two were kissing passionately, a phone call interrupted their next move, also making Michael a bit more sober.
As he was about to get up, Isabella held onto him reluctantly.
Her brows furrowed, as if afraid he would leave.
He pressed his forehead against hers, breathing heavily, kissing her forehead to comfort her, "Not now, you and the baby are more important."
Whether it was his words that worked or not, Isabella no longer clung to him.
Michael got up, put his phone on silent, covered her with the blanket, and then went out to answer the call.
"What's up?"
The call was from Ethan, who was always asking him to go for a drink. Michael wasn't in a hurry.
Sure enough, the next second Ethan's teasing voice came through, "I say, Mr. Brown, today is your birthday party, the dance is almost over, where are you?"
"Don't tell me you called us all to the boat and then snuck off to enjoy yourself alone."
"No, I'm on the boat, got held up by something. Where are you? I'll come find you for a drink."
Taking advantage of Isabella's sleep, he might as well go check it out.
It wouldn't be good if he invited so many people to his birthday party and didn't show his face even once.
"I called you not to drink, but to ask you something."
Ethan got straight to the point, "What's going on with you and that girl named Violet? You invited her to your birthday party, and she dressed so sexy. Are you serious about her?"
"Let me tell you, you better be careful. You and Isabella aren't divorced yet. Bringing Violet out so urgently, where does that leave Isabella's dignity?"
In the end, Ethan was still on Isabella's side.
That Violet didn't seem like Michael's type at all. Who knew what spell he was under recently, bringing that restless woman around.
But these words made Michael immediately sense something was wrong.
"You said you saw Violet?"
With the drug he gave Violet, she shouldn't be awake at this time. How did Ethan see her?
Could she have woken up!
Realizing this, Michael's face instantly turned cold.
On the other end, Ethan, unaware of what had happened, responded in confusion.
"What kind of question is that? If I hadn't seen her, would I be calling you about this?"
"Let me tell you, Violet was flirting with a man in front of everyone. If you don't do something, I'm afraid she'll cheat on you soon."
"Got to go, I have something to do, won't come to you."
Before Ethan could finish, Michael decisively hung up the phone.
He immediately called Aaron, "Go to the guest room on the second floor now and see if Violet is still there. Hurry!"
"Yes, Mr. Brown."
Aaron didn't dare delay and quickly went over.
Two minutes later, Michael's phone rang again, Aaron's voice tinged with urgency, "Mr. Brown, she's gone."
Michael gripped his phone tightly, his face darkening.
He arranged for people to guard the top floor to protect Isabella, then quickly went to the room where Violet was held.
Everything inside was neatly in place, except for some signs of the blanket being pulled on the bed.
All actions indicated one thing: Violet woke up on her own.
Michael didn't say a word, but his aura was suffocating.
Aaron's face was also extremely grim. He was responsible for all the arrangements for this birthday party, and now that something went wrong, he bore the greatest responsibility.
But what made him angry wasn't the fear of being punished, but the significant role Violet's identity played.
If it weren't for wanting to use her to uncover the secrets of the Adri Family, Michael wouldn't have kept her around all the time.
And now, Violet disappeared under their control.
The clues they worked so hard to gather were now broken.
Aaron was furious, first rushing out to slap a bodyguard in the face, "I told you to guard here, is this how you guard? Where is she?"
Aaron used all his strength, making the nearly 6-foot-tall bodyguard in black take two steps back.
Knowing he was at fault, the bodyguard didn't dare lift his head, "Mr. Brown, it's our fault. We shouldn't have been careless and lost her."
"Please, Mr. Brown, forgive us this time for the sake of our years of service."
"Forgive?"
Aaron's eyes were bloodshot, pointing at them and cursing, "You lost her and want Mr. Brown to forgive you? Do you think Mr. Brown is running a charity, getting you paid for nothing?"
"The Brown Group doesn't keep useless people. If you don't find Violet today, you don't need to stay in the Brown Group anymore."
These words were not only Aaron's intention but also Michael's.
Hearing this, the bodyguard nervously got up and ran out.
The Brown Group's salary was the highest in the country. If they lost this job, no one would dare hire them anywhere else.
Aaron turned back to report to Michael, "Mr. Brown, it was due to the subordinates' negligence that Violet found an opportunity. Our people are now searching the yacht."
"Have you found her?"
Michael only wanted results!
Aaron's face changed slightly, not daring to say another word.
Since Michael hung up the phone, he had sent people out to search, but there was still no clue.
He smashed a glass with force, his voice cold, "Keep looking. Dead or alive, I want to see her. If you can't find Violet, don't come back. Understand?"
Aaron swallowed, "Understood."
Having been by Michael's side for years, it was the first time Aaron saw him so angry.
Violet disappeared without a trace, with no clues on the yacht. She probably sneaked off the boat when no one was around.
Now they not only had to continue searching the yacht but also notify people on shore to track Violet's whereabouts.
If they couldn't find her, even his job would be at risk.
While Aaron mobilized all resources to track Violet, Michael returned to the top floor to stay by Isabella's side.
With Violet missing, he was most worried about her.
What was certain now was that the Adri Family was backing Violet. Whatever she did wouldn't be surprising.
Moreover, according to the bodyguards' estimation, Violet left the room when he and Isabella were dancing on the rooftop.
Violet's feelings for him were no longer hidden. If she saw him and Isabella together, with her vengeful nature, she might harm Isabella and her unborn child.
