Chapter 341

As soon as Daniel's name came up, Isabella couldn't hold back her tears, and her eyes turned red.

Cinda, feeling for her, stepped forward and hugged her gently. "When Mr. Daniel Wilson passed, you and your uncles were all there. He went peacefully, which means he was blessed."

"And Mr. Daniel Wilson loved you the most. He'd want you to be happy. You can't keep being this sad. For the baby's sake, you can't keep torturing yourself like this."

Hearing this, Isabella placed her hands on her belly.

Yes, she still had the baby.

"Cinda, don't worry. I won't let anything happen to the baby."

Before Daniel passed, he had told her to live for herself. Maybe Daniel always thought she kept the baby because of Michael.

Daniel probably didn't want the baby to become a burden to her, which is why he said those things.

But this baby was the only connection she had to Michael over the years. How could she possibly give it up?

"Cinda, did Uncle Atticus call while I was out? And when is my grandfather's funeral?"

Cinda hesitated but didn't want to hide the truth from Isabella.

"Ms. Taylor, you're very weak right now, and you're pregnant. If you go and get too emotional, it won't be good. Maybe you shouldn't go?"

"No way!"

Isabella refused without thinking, but then realized that Cinda wouldn't say such things unless Atticus had instructed her to.

"Cinda, has my grandfather's funeral been moved up?"

Seeing Isabella's anxious face, Cinda couldn't bear to hide it any longer.

"Actually, today is his funeral. The public memorial is being held at the Wilson Family estate."

Cinda's voice grew softer as she spoke.

As a woman, she understood Isabella's deep feelings for Daniel. If Isabella missed today's funeral, she would regret it. It was better to let her say goodbye to Daniel in person so she could find some closure.

"Today?"

Isabella's face changed. She threw off the covers and tried to get out of bed. "Cinda, go get me some clothes. I need to go now."

Isabella forgot how weak her body was. She moved too quickly, and her legs gave out, almost causing her to fall.

Cinda caught her just in time.

"Ms. Taylor, don't rush. There's still time. You need to eat something first, for your sake and the baby's."

Isabella took a deep breath to calm herself down.

"I understand, Cinda. I'll eat breakfast."

No matter what, she had to attend Daniel's funeral.

Seeing this, Cinda finally felt relieved and brought over the breakfast she had prepared, watching Isabella eat bit by bit.

Isabella didn't have much of an appetite, but she knew she couldn't afford to have any issues at Daniel's funeral, and the baby needed nutrition.

She forced herself to swallow the food.

Cinda found her a black dress and a matching coat. Isabella removed all her jewelry except for the gemstone pendant Michael had given her at her birthday party.

She applied light makeup and hurried to the Wilson Family estate.

Cinda, worried about her, followed with some essentials.

That gemstone pendant, she had heard from the Brown Family's servants, wasn't something Michael had bought but something passed down from his grandmother.

It was valuable, but she just wanted to return everything related to him. Eventually, she hoped to forget him entirely.

The Wilson Family estate.

Daniel had been a renowned Gambling King, and now that he had passed, the estate was filled with people coming to pay their respects.

From the moment she entered the gate, Isabella walked step by step to the hall where Daniel's portrait was displayed.

Seeing Daniel's peaceful and serene face in the portrait, she couldn't help but cry again.

She bowed her head in silent tribute, tears streaming down her face.

Before she came, Cinda had repeatedly told her not to cry at Daniel's funeral, saying that his spirit would be pained to see her like this.

But she couldn't help it.

She missed Daniel so much.

Why couldn't everything in front of her be just a dream?

She just wanted Daniel to be okay. Was that too much to ask?

"Isabella, you okay? You're pregnant. Didn't I tell you not to come?"

Atticus, who was receiving guests, saw Isabella crying in the hall and went to comfort her.

"You've already fainted once. Do you want to scare me?"

It was his idea to keep Isabella from coming.

Pregnant women shouldn't have too many emotional fluctuations. He was worried she would get too upset at the funeral and faint again, which would be bad for both her and the baby.

But he had underestimated Isabella's love for Daniel.

"Uncle Atticus, I can't miss my grandfather's funeral. Do you want me to regret it for the rest of my life?"

Isabella steadied herself and looked up at Atticus with tear-filled eyes.

Atticus wanted to say something but swallowed his words, finally sighing in resignation.

"Alright, since you're here, you can say your final goodbye to your grandfather."

Isabella wiped her tears.

At that moment, a servant came to report that an important guest had arrived.

Isabella and Atticus exchanged a glance, both guessing who it was.

Outside the gate, a long black Rolls-Royce was parked away from the crowd. Before anyone got out, several bodyguards surrounded the area.

Then, the rear door slowly opened, and an elderly man with white hair, dressed in a black traditional suit, stepped out, leaning on a cane.

It was Michael's grandfather, Aiden.

Aiden and Daniel had been friends for many years. Daniel's sudden death was hard for Aiden to accept.

Aiden approached the hall with flowers in hand and bowed deeply to Daniel's portrait.

Isabella wanted to go and support him, but with Atticus there, she didn't want to overstep her bounds.

Aiden, trembling, moved closer to the portrait. Atticus quickly went over to take the flowers.

"Mr. Brown, we're grateful you came to pay your respects. Let me take the flowers."

Atticus could see that Aiden was genuinely saddened by Daniel's sudden passing. In just a few minutes, Aiden's eyes had already welled up.

As a junior, he couldn't let Aiden be more heartbroken.

But Aiden gently waved his hand, looking at Daniel's portrait with a deep sigh.

"Because your father and I were friends for so many years, I must personally give him these flowers. It's the least I can do."

Aiden felt a deep sense of guilt towards Daniel.

At this moment, he just wanted to tell Daniel, "Old friend, I'm sorry. I couldn't keep my promise to you."
