Chapter 254

Isabella turned her head and looked at Cinda with a hint of resentment.

"Cinda, you can't just care about the baby and not me. Look, it's only been three months of pregnancy, and I've already gained several pounds."

"No way, Ms. Taylor, you still look as beautiful as before. Your skin is so smooth, you look like an eighteen-year-old girl."

Isabella burst into laughter and said coquettishly, "Cinda, stop it."

Cinda smiled, "I'm not lying. Ms. Taylor, you are naturally beautiful, and you look even better now that you're pregnant."

At this moment, Isabella was certain that keeping Cinda around was the best decision she had ever made.

If it weren't for Cinda's companionship, providing her with motherly warmth and comfort, she might have really become depressed during this time.

Cinda had filled the void of motherly love she was missing, helping her get through emotional challenges time and again.

At this moment, there was a knock on the door. Cinda assumed it was Isabella's uncles and went to open the door with a smile.

"Mr. Brown?"

Hearing Cinda's surprised voice, Isabella instinctively looked towards the door. When she saw who it was, her eyes lit up.

"Nolan! What brings you here?"

Seeing Nolan, Isabella's face lit up with joy and surprise as she quickly walked towards the door.

The driver who had pushed the wheelchair had already left. Cinda took over the wheelchair and pushed Nolan into the living room.

Seeing how happy Isabella was to see him, the unease in Nolan's heart dissipated significantly.

He didn't want her to notice anything, so he half-jokingly said, "Of course, I wanted to see you. It's been so long, and you haven't called to update me. If I didn't come, I might still have to hear about you from someone else even if you disappeared."

Nolan's tone was filled with undisguised disappointment and worry, making Isabella feel guilty.

"No way, I was just afraid of interrupting your classes, Nolan. Besides, your schedule is so full, I didn't want to bother you and make you more tired."

"Really?"

Isabella nodded, "I swear, it is."

Only then did Nolan let her off the hook.

Feeling guilty, Isabella exchanged a glance with Cinda and took over Nolan's wheelchair, pushing him towards the balcony.

She personally handed Nolan the fruit that Cinda had washed, "Nolan, don't be mad. Here, have some fruit!"

Isabella blinked and gave Nolan a pleasing smile.

She had known Nolan for many years and was very familiar with his personality and way of doing things.

Despite his usual gentle demeanor, when it came to work and things he cared about, he was as serious as Michael.

Even more stubborn than Michael.

And since Nolan had personally chosen this job and had just started, she didn't want to disturb him too much at this time.

She didn't want him to waste his energy listening to her complaints and grievances.

But Isabella didn't know that Nolan's thoughts were the exact opposite.

"Isabella, are you really just afraid of disturbing me, so you didn't come to me?"

Since they last met at the dessert shop, they hadn't contacted each other for nearly a month. He was worried that she might have overthought that day's events, misunderstanding that he left her alone and went back, thinking he was cold and heartless.

After all, the one being surrounded was Michael, who was also a member of the Brown Family.

In terms of relationships, as Michael's older brother, he shouldn't have left Michael there without caring.

Over the past month, the more Isabella ignored him, the more panicked he felt.

Did she really have a different opinion of him?

Once this thought took root in his mind, it kept him up at night.

So, he didn't hesitate any longer and came directly to Isabella's villa without calling ahead.

Fortunately, the security had his records, and he was able to enter as he wished.

"Yes, otherwise, why wouldn't I come to you?"

In response to Nolan's doubts, Isabella gave a decisive answer.

She had always considered Nolan her best friend, as important as Olivia and her uncles.

Seeing Isabella's serious and puzzled expression, Nolan secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

It wasn't as he had feared.

He had been worried that Isabella would distance herself from him because of this, which he would regret for the rest of his life.

Isabella also noticed something was off, her eyes falling on Nolan's face, which alternated between tension and relaxation. She asked in confusion, "Nolan, what's wrong? You didn't come all this way just to ask me this, did you?"

In terms of time, they had known each other longer than she had known Michael.

Why would Nolan be so concerned about such a small matter?

Hearing this, Nolan looked up, meeting Isabella's bright eyes. Their gazes locked, and some indescribable emotions burst forth at that moment.

"Isabella, if I came here just for these small matters, would you feel guilty?"

Nolan's eyes were fixed on her, his gentle gaze mixed with an unfathomable depth, like a deep pool that couldn't be fully explored.

But his tone was light and easy.

He didn't seem to be serious about what he was saying, more like he was joking with her.

So Isabella didn't think much of it and followed her own thoughts, saying, "Yes."

When she met Nolan's inscrutable eyes, she already felt a vague sense of guilt.

She hadn't intentionally avoided contacting him.

She was mainly afraid that her pregnancy emotions would affect others, so she held back from disturbing them.

"I was just joking, and you took it seriously."

Hearing Isabella seriously nod and say "yes," Nolan knew he hadn't come in vain.

The gloom in his heart was swept away, and not wanting Isabella to see through his thoughts, he quickly changed the subject.

"Actually, I came here not just for this and I do have some good news to share with you. Can you guess what it is?"

Seeing Nolan's rare playful side, Isabella silently pondered what great news could make Nolan so happy.

After thinking for a while, a thought suddenly flashed in her mind.

"Nolan, do you have someone you like?"

To be honest, Nolan seemed to have been single for many years. He was always the one giving her relationship advice over the phone, but she had never heard of him dating anyone.

The only person who had close contact with him was his student Violet, whom he had brought back from abroad.

When they appeared at her birthday party, she had mistakenly thought they were a couple, but Violet had expressed her feelings for Michael at the party.

So, Nolan was still single.

She didn't know what type he liked, but if there was someone suitable, she could introduce them to him.

After all, Nolan wasn't getting any younger, and staying single wasn't a solution.

"Isabella, why would you think of that?" Nolan laughed, "The good news I have has nothing to do with relationships. You guessed wrong!"
