Chapter 27
"Really?" Michael stared down at her, his voice cold and devoid of any emotion. "Don't forget, Daniel's life is still waiting for you to save."
"I'll find a way to help my grandfather. You should worry more about yourself right now." Isabella pushed his hand away and escaped while he was distracted.
Michael reached out to pull Isabella back, but suddenly his body became unbearably hot.
Isabella smirked, knowing he couldn't do anything at the moment. "Forgot to tell you, I applied an aphrodisiac on myself. The effects have already kicked in. Don't worry, your first love, Bianca, will be here soon. You two should stay together forever."
With that, she picked up her phone and walked out in front of him.
She wanted Michael to understand how determined she was to divorce him.
He thought he could use Daniel's illness to force her to compromise and submit to him. Itwas daydreaming.
Before the marriage, she wanted him badly.
But now, she wouldn't want him even if he was willing.
As Isabella opened the door, Michael's voice, filled with extreme suppression, came from behind, "Isabella, have you thought about the consequences of leaving like this today?"
Without looking back, she turned the handle. "If you can hold on until tomorrow, we can talk. I'm always ready."
The door slammed shut, and Michael stood by the bed, looking like a demon from hell.
His mind kept replaying her words, gritted through her teeth, that she would divorce him and have children with another man.
What did she take him for? A rag to be thrown away?
He panted heavily, took out his phone, and called Aaron. "From now on, no one is allowed to enter the company building."
After speaking, he threw down the phone and went into the bathroom.
Letting the cold water pour over him from head to toe.
Isabella was right. The moment Bianca saw the photos, she couldn't control herself and rushed to the office building.
That place, that bed, with Isabella and Michael on it.
She wasn't stupid. Once they made love, it was too late for anything.
But she didn't expect to be denied entry when she got downstairs.
Bianca desperately explained her identity, but it was useless. She called Michael, but no one answered.
She called Isabella, but her phone was off.
She was about to lose her mind, screaming and shouting at the elevator entrance.
For three whole years, Michael hadn't touched Isabella once. She thought if she endured a little longer, she would have a chance once they divorced.
She never expected Isabella to seduce Michael at the company.
In the photos, Michael's eyes were filled with desire, looking at Isabella as if he wanted to devour her.
Michael was clearly someone with strong desires.
With both of them naked on the bed, how could nothing have happened?
She couldn't stand that.
It should have been her lying next to Michael. It was Isabella who prevented her from marrying into the Brown Family and being with the man she loved.
Isabella took the place that should have been hers.
She would never let Isabella off.
On the top floor, Michael came out after nearly half an hour of a cold shower.
He had always had strong self-control, but when he smelled the lingering scent of Isabella in the air, he was aroused uncontrollably again.
His mind kept flashing with images of Isabella's soft body and red lips.
And those harsh words she had said.
He took a deep breath, picked up his phone, and decisively went to the outer office.
At that moment, a call came to his phone.
It was Sean, whom Isabella had been looking for in vain.
"Mr. Brown, it's me. I received the medical records you sent." Sean's tone was very polite.
He was nothing like the eccentric person the rumors described.
Michael didn't tell Daniel everything.
He did have a collaboration with Sean's wife, but the premise of this collaboration was that he had saved Sean's wife's life by chance.
Sean had also promised him that he would help with anything he needed.
Michael's voice was still hoarse. "How is it? Can Daniel's illness be cured?"
Sean replied, "Mr. Wilson's illness is indeed a bit tricky, but it's not a problem for me. I'm confident I can save him."
"Then I'll leave it to you." Michael said.
"By the way, Mr. Brown, someone has been inquiring about my whereabouts recently. They didn't reveal their identity, but I can sense that they are very powerful, possibly on par with you."
Michael frowned at this. "I'll arrange for you to enter the country first and stay somewhere untraceable. Before that, I need you to personally examine Mr. Wilson."
"No problem, I was thinking the same." Sean said.
Additionally, Michael instructed him not to contact anyone for the time being and to wait for his message.
He guessed that the force looking for Sean was likely Isabella.
To have connections worldwide meant that neither she nor Daniel could be ordinary people.
He then called Aaron again. "Check all the information about Daniel."
Isabella received a call from her uncle, Holden Wilson, from abroad as soon as she got home.
He said their people had found Sean's address, and he would personally go to invite Sean to treat Daniel in the next couple of days.
Isabella finally felt a weight lifted off her shoulders.
Without Holden, she wouldn't have dared to confront Michael so recklessly last night.
"Ms. Taylor, about your divorce appeal with Mr. Brown..." Seeing Isabella's happy smile, Jesse cautiously reminded her.
He had just learned that Isabella had called him out after three years to divorce Michael!
Now that things were about to go to court, he was really worried it would reach Daniel.
"There's no rush. We'll talk about it after my grandfather's condition stabilizes." Isabella understood Michael's character. He didn't want to give money now, and even if it went to court, he had ways to delay the case.
Rather than wasting time with him, she wanted to see Daniel's condition stabilize before bringing it up again.
But things often take unexpected turns.
Shortly after hanging up, Isabella received a call from one of Daniel's subordinates.
Daniel's condition had worsened, and the hospital had issued a critical condition notice.
Isabella was so scared her legs went weak.
She hurried to the hospital and watched as Daniel was wheeled into the ICU, his eyes closed and face pale. Isabella couldn't hold back her tears.
In this world, Daniel was her closest and dearest family.
Without Daniel, she would have been tormented to death by Harper and Bianca in the Taylor Family.
Now she had to watch Daniel suffer from illness.
How could she not feel heartbroken?
Quickly wiping away her tears, Isabella called Holden, only to hear more bad news.
Sean had left the country overnight, and no one knew where he had gone.
Isabella immediately thought of Michael.
It was him.
Only he could take Sean away under the watchful eyes of so many people.
She couldn't wait any longer.
If Daniel died because she took revenge on Michael, she would never forgive herself.
