Chapter 137
"
"I don't agree to the divorce!" Michael's expression was serious. "Isabella and I won't separate. Uncles, please stop saying these things."
"Who cares if you agree or not? This divorce must happen. Isabella has been bullied by you for three years, and now you still want to keep her in the Brown Family? You're delusional!" Holden's face turned dark with anger upon hearing Michael's words.
Michael wanted to explain, but facing the uncles' fury, he didn't know how to start.
It was only when Isabella proposed the divorce that he truly realized his feelings for her.
From the beginning, the one he loved was always Isabella, not Bianca. He wanted to be with her for the rest of his life.
But he realized it too late. Now, Isabella's heart was full of Nolan.
He wanted to show her his true feelings, but he couldn't find an opportunity.
He couldn't say these things to the uncles because even if they believed him, they would just see it as an excuse to force Isabella to stay, and if they told Isabella, he would lose the last shred of dignity he had as a man.
Michael's pale face tightened, and he resolutely refused. "As long as I don't agree, the divorce won't happen. Uncles, If you uncles have nothing else, please leave."
No matter how, he simply wouldn't agree to divorce Isabella.
Michael's strong stance instantly ignited the anger of the Wilsons' sons.
"Are you looking for a fisght? It seems you won't know our power without a lesson!" Holden suddenly stepped forward and grabbed Michael, his eyes red. "Dare to say it again?"
Michael, who had been pampered by the Brown Family since childhood, had never been treated like this. His face turned blush with anger.
But thinking of the people in front of him as Isabella's beloved uncles, he suppressed his anger completely.
No matter how they treated him, Michael couldn't lay a hand on Isabella's uncles. "No matter how many times I say it, it's the same thing. I don't agree to the divorce!"
Even being grabbed by the collar and questioned, Michael firmly expressed his stance.
As soon as he finished speaking, there was a loud sound.
Holden punched Michael hard in the face, leaving a quick mark.
"Michael, it's not up to you. This divorce must happen!" Holden gritted his teeth in anger.
He raised his hand to strike again. "Say it, will you divorce or not?"
Michael still said, "Even if you beat me to death, I won't divorce!"
Holden was furious. He tightened his grip on Michael's collar. "Fine, I'll see how long you're tough today."
Seeing the fist about to land, Michael had no chance to fight back.
Moreover, Holden was just the first to strike. There were still four uncles waiting for him.
If this continued, he might end up in the hospital.
To have a chance to see Isabella again, Michael blocked Holden's fist. "Uncle Holden, this is clearly bullying. It's unfair."
Holden sneered, seeing Michael still talking about fairness. "Fine, what do you consider fair?"
Michael raised his head, neither humble nor arrogant. "A one-on-one duel without anyone else interfering would be fair."
After saying that, he glanced at Atticus across the room, who understood that Michael wanted him to act as a referee.
With years of experience, Atticus didn't think Michael's tricks would change their minds, but beating Michael didn't require all of them.
The Wilsons' sons bullying her together wouldn't sound good if it got out.
Atticus made a decision immediately.
Thinking of this, Atticus made a decision immediately. "Just as you said, one-on-one. If you lose, you will divorce Isabella immediately, and the Wilson Family will have nothing more to do with you."
"Atticus, you must keep your word!"
"Uncle Atticus, you must keep your word!" Michael responded quickly, fearing they might change their minds.
Holden rolled up his sleeves, ready to strike, but Atticus reminded him, "Holden, this concerns Isabella's future. You're busy with work and don't have much time to train. Let me handle him."
However, Holden didn't believe he couldn't beat Michael. He had to vent his anger personally. "No need, Atticus. Just watch how I make Michael admit defeat!"
Seeing this, Atticus didn't persuade further and sat back on the couch.
The other three brothers stepped back behind Atticus, making space.
Everyone thought Michael was a useless rich kid with no real skills, but they didn't know that he had the highest levels in various combat disciplines due to extensive private training, which he never revealed publicly.
So when Holden took an attack stance, Michael immediately saw his unfamiliar technique, realizing Holden probably hadn't undergone systematic training.
Michael reminded him, "Uncle Holden, you can't attack me. Defending would be more beneficial for you."
Holden couldn't stand it, and said straightly, "Stop talking. If you want to fight, come on, don't dawdle."
Before he finished speaking, Michael quickly dodged and, before Holden could attack, easily countered and pinned him.
Holden's arm was twisted behind him, and he cried out in pain.
Michael's deep voice came, "Uncle Holden, I won!"
He then released Holden's hand.
"You dare sneak attack me?" Holden was unconvinced and rolled up his sleeves to go again. "No, this doesn't count. One more time. I don't believe I can't beat you."
Michael retorted, "Uncle Holden, we agreed on a one-on-one. You are an elder; you can't go back on your word in public, can you?"
This last sentence successfully angered Holden.
He was a role model in the Wilson Family, with two younger brothers looking up to him. How could he be seen as a cheat?
"You only won because you sneak attacked me!" Even if it was true, Holden's momentum weakened.
He was too careless, giving Michael an opportunity.
But this was about Isabella's happiness. He couldn't give up easily.
Even if it meant cheating, he had to fight for Isabella's happiness.
Michael guessed Holden wouldn't let it go. He thought for a moment and spoke, "Uncles, you are all elders. I already offended Uncle Holden in the match and don't want to offend the you. Of course, if you still have objections, I'm ready anytime."
