Chapter 279

Michael was caught off guard and took the hit solidly.

Atticus, a retired special forces soldier, hadn't fought in years, but he used all his strength in that punch, making Michael stagger back a few steps.

But he couldn't care less about the pain right now; all he could think about was Isabella.

He tried to reason with his two uncles, but Atticus, who was furious, wouldn't listen to his explanations and kept landing punch after punch on Michael.

As they hit him, they questioned him, "Michael, if you hadn't taken Isabella away, would she be in this mess now?"

"If you didn't like her, why did you torment her? She's carrying your child, you beast! You killed her!"

"Michael, you're not even human!"

The more Atticus cursed, the angrier he got. Isabella was the beloved young lady of the Wilson Family, and they cherished her dearly. But she had the misfortune of meeting a scumbag like Michael.

Michael had brought her to this point, and now that something had happened, she was nowhere to be found.

How could they not be heartbroken?

They wanted nothing more than to beat Michael to death to avenge Isabella.

It wasn't just Atticus; Holden also wanted to teach Michael, the bastard who caused Isabella's death, a harsh lesson.

Just as Holden was about to join in, Michael suddenly dodged, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, and tried to explain to his uncles.

"Atticus, Holden, can you listen to me for a moment?"

"I had someone investigate before I came. There are no records of Isabella being admitted to any nearby hospitals, which means she might not have been caught in the explosion. She must still be alive."

This was the belief that had kept him going.

Isabella would be fine.

However, Michael's words only deceived himself.

They didn't stir any emotions in his uncles; instead, they further enraged Holden. He gritted his teeth and kicked Michael hard.

"Michael, do you think we're easy to fool? Wouldn't we know if something happened to Isabella?"

He grabbed Michael's collar fiercely. "Yes, the hospitals don't have any records of Isabella being admitted, but don't forget, her car was on the bridge where the accident happened. You know better than anyone why she was there!"

"If it weren't for your birthday party, she wouldn't have snuck out, and this wouldn't have happened."

Everything was Michael's fault.

If he hadn't invited her, Isabella wouldn't have taken the risk to go out.

"The scene on the bridge is still chaotic. Who can guarantee that Isabella was rescued? If anything happens to her, I swear the Wilson Family will use all our power to fight you to the end."

Holden's eyes were red with anger. He raised his hand to throw another punch, but Atticus stopped him.

"Holden, that's enough. This bastard isn't worth our time. Isabella is still waiting for us to find her and bring her home."

Even the usually stern Atticus choked up at the end.

When the incident first happened, Atticus had mobilized all his connections to search for people at the scene.

The scene was horrific.

The ground was littered with debris from the explosion and injured bystanders.

Because the explosion was so sudden, the cars behind couldn't avoid it, leading to a massive pile-up.

Many cars were pushed off the bridge and fell into the sea.

The cars left on the bridge were mostly crushed and deformed, with heavy casualties.

Among the people they sent to search for Isabella, they found a license plate with the Wilson Family's emblem in the center of the explosion.

When Atticus and Holden heard this, they were so shocked they almost couldn't stand.

They wanted to believe more than anyone that Isabella was the lucky one.

But the harsh reality was right in front of them. Even if they chose to deceive themselves, how long could they keep it up?

Atticus had experienced countless peacekeeping missions abroad and knew the survival rate in such major accidents.

When they arrived at the hospital, their last hope was shattered.

Isabella might really be gone.

So when they saw Michael, their first reaction was to teach him a lesson and avenge Isabella's death.

If they had known that marrying Michael would cause Isabella so much suffering and ultimately cost her life, they would have never agreed to the marriage.

Now, their top priority was to find Isabella and bring her home.

As for Michael, they wouldn't let him off.

Holden finally stopped, giving Michael a dark look. "Michael, just wait."

"Holden, don't go. What happened? Do you know something?"

Their reaction sent a chill down Michael's spine.

He was now inexplicably panicked.

The Brown Family and the Wilson Family were equally powerful. When he first heard the news about Isabella, he rushed back in a hurry.

The people he sent to investigate hadn't reported back yet, and the Wilson Family's attitude made him think of the worst possible outcome.

At this point, Holden spoke directly.

If Isabella was really gone, he wanted Michael to live in regret for the rest of his life.

"Isabella was being targeted a few days ago, and their goal was clear: they wanted her dead."

"We found out that the person behind this is likely the woman named Violet by your side!"

Holden revealed the truth.

Michael's affair with Violet was already known to their five uncles. If they weren't afraid of upsetting Isabella and hurting her and the baby, they would have beaten Michael up long ago.

So they had been secretly watching the two, waiting for Isabella to stabilize before teaching Michael and Violet a lesson.

Who knew that Violet had such a powerful force behind her and had harmed Isabella to this extent?

"Violet? How could it be her? That's impossible!"

Michael was stunned and immediately denied it.

To keep Violet as a spy, he had been with her almost every day to monitor her.

And last night, before Violet escaped the yacht, she was under constant watch. Isabella left at dawn.

Even if she had the intention, she couldn't have planned an explosion in such a short time.

There must be someone else behind this.

But what Michael didn't realize was that his eagerness to clear Violet's name only fueled these two uncles' anger.

Isabella and the baby were caught in the explosion, and Michael dared to defend his mistress Violet in front of them?

Holden gritted his teeth and spat at him, "Bastard, Isabella must have been blind to fall for you!"
