Olivia knew Isabella couldn't stand to see her struggling, which only made her feel worse.

Every song Isabella wrote was amazing, just like her design skills, always leaving people in awe.

But Olivia didn't want Isabella to wear herself out.

"It's fine, it's just one song. If it comes to it, I'll just tell them to pick another one for the lead single."

"You can't be so nonchalant about your work. We still have plenty of time, so don't stress. I can handle it."

"But-"

Before Olivia could finish, Isabella's phone rang, cutting her off.

Seeing the caller ID, Isabella was a bit surprised.

It was Emilio.

They hadn't really kept in touch since they last met at Celestial Dining.

Emilio had recently been promoted to vice president of the Wilson Group. Why would he be calling now? Could something have happened at the company?

With that thought, Isabella answered the call without hesitation.

To her surprise, Emilio's first question was, "Isabella, I heard from Mr. Atticus Wilson that you were planning a spontaneous trip abroad today. Have you left yet?"

Relieved that it wasn't a company emergency, Isabella relaxed.

Emilio's tone was gentle, suggesting he was just calling for a casual chat.

Isabella smiled lightly, "No, I'm at home. I was planning to go with a friend, but her boyfriend showed up unexpectedly, so I didn't need to go."

"Emilio, why did Atticus mention this to you?"

Atticus was usually very tight-lipped and didn't like gossip. Why would he tell Emilio, the vice president, about her plans?

"It's not what you think. I asked Mr. Atticus Wilson about you, and he mentioned it in passing."

"You know, with you away, Mr. Atticus Wilson has been managing the company, so we've had many opportunities to meet."

Emilio explained tactfully.

"Mr. Atticus Wilson mentioned you wanted to visit Auroria. I was thinking of calling you later to show you the scenery there via video."

"Maybe another time. There will be other opportunities."

Isabella chuckled but didn't elaborate.

If Emilio knew she was going to Auroria despite the danger, would he still want to see the scenery through her phone?

But since Michael had given her Bianca's location, she had to go and catch Bianca.

"Last time we met, you mentioned you were bored at home. The company just finished a big project, and I have a few days off. How about you show me around Evergreen City?"

"You know, I haven't been back in a long time and don't know the fun spots here."

Emilio's question seemed casual, but only he knew how nervous he was.

When both Atticus and Holden expressed their approval of him, he was thrilled.

With the support of the Wilson Family, he had to seize this opportunity to convey his feelings to Isabella.

"Fun spots around Evergreen City? Honestly, I'm not too familiar with them."

She hadn't explored much herself and couldn't think of any places off the top of her head.

Seeing Isabella about to refuse, Olivia quickly grabbed her and shook her head.

Isabella realized Emilio's good intentions. Wouldn't it be too harsh to reject him now?

After all, he was the vice president she had hired, working hard for the company. He finally had a few days off and was still thinking of her. She couldn't just turn him down.

"Well, I remember there's a Graceful Haven Church in Evergreen City that's been popular online recently. It's built on a hillside with great views. How about I take you there?"

Isabella was just making a suggestion.

She wasn't familiar with the local attractions and didn't go out much.

To her surprise, Emilio agreed immediately, "Sure, any place you pick will be great. I'm free these days. When do you want to go?"

Emilio didn't mind Isabella's past marriage. In fact, he was glad she was divorced. Otherwise, he might never have had the chance to get close to her or dream of a future together.

As long as Isabella accepted him, he would be the happiest man in the world.

"How about tomorrow? My friend is here too, so we can all go together. It'll be nice to have company."

Isabella smiled and pulled Olivia into the plan.

The moment she finished speaking, both Emilio on the phone and Olivia beside her fell silent.

Emilio had hoped to develop his relationship with Isabella, not expecting a "good friend" to join.

Olivia's eyes widened. She waved her hands and shook her head at Isabella, her face clearly saying, "No way!" She almost spoke out loud.

Anyone could see Emilio's feelings for Isabella.

Isabella was single, and after being hurt by Michael for so long, she needed someone to comfort her.

If Emilio and Isabella spent more time together, they might develop a beautiful relationship. If Olivia went along, she'd just be the awkward third wheel.

She didn't want that!

But the next second, Isabella sent Olivia a pleading look.

Olivia was speechless.

So Isabella knew Emilio's intentions but was too embarrassed to refuse him.

All Olivia's plans went out the window.

She had heard about Emilio from Isabella. He was just as good-looking, capable, and well-off as Michael. Why couldn't Isabella give him a chance?

Who knew, she might fall for him. Love was unpredictable.

Olivia decided to give Emilio another chance. She cleared her throat and said, "Emilio, I'm not much of an outdoor person. How about you and Isabella go alone?"

She had made it clear. Emilio, a grown man, couldn't pretend not to understand, right?

Isabella's brow furrowed.

But Emilio just chuckled, "Olivia, don't be so shy. Since Isabella and I are old friends, that makes you my friend too. It'd be nice to have you along."

Olivia's mouth twitched.

Fine.

If both Emilio and Isabella insisted on her presence, what was she afraid of?

Olivia gritted her teeth, "Alright, I'll go!"

After hanging up, Isabella quickly apologized to Olivia, "Olivia, don't be mad. I didn't mean to put you on the spot. It's just that if you don't go, Emilio and I will feel awkward."

Olivia huffed, thinking, 'I'm the one who'll feel the most awkward.'

But she realized Isabella wasn't interested in Emilio. If she had no feelings for him, it was better to keep a distance.

"Just this once. Don't use me as a shield again."

"Absolutely, Olivia. You're the best."
