Chapter 184
He could endure her being angry with him, but he couldn't handle her completely ignoring him.
That only made him more anxious.
He felt like she could leave him at any moment.
"Let go!"
Isabella frowned, shook off his hand, and said coldly, "Stay away from me, I don't want to talk to you."
If he had known it would come to this, why did he act that way in the first place?
When she begged him in the car, he couldn't stop humiliating her.
And now he thinks he can just say he's sorry and move on?
It's utterly ridiculous.
"Isabella."
Michael was reluctant to leave, but at that moment, his phone rang.
It was a call from the Brown Villa.
He quickly answered, and Aiden's strong voice came through.
"Michael, where have you been messing around? It's been days, and you haven't come home. Where's Isabella? Where did you take Isabella?"
Hearing that Aiden was also looking for Isabella, Michael's eyes flashed, and he immediately said, "Grandpa, Isabella is right here with me. How about we come to see you tomorrow?"
If he asked Isabella to go back, she would definitely refuse.
But if it was Aiden asking, she would surely go.
Hearing that they were together, Aiden was relieved and agreed.
"Alright, then come over tomorrow, and make sure to bring Isabella. I haven't seen her in days."
Michael looked deeply at Isabella and agreed readily on the phone, "Got it, Grandpa. We'll come to see you tomorrow."
Isabella, already annoyed by Michael, was even angrier now that he had presumptuously arranged her schedule.
But since it was Aiden on the other end of the line, she didn't want to hurt his feelings.
She found an excuse to decline, "I have other things to handle tomorrow. You go back by yourself."
Michael was stunned for a moment.
Aiden on the other end of the line also sensed something was wrong and immediately got angry at Michael.
"Michael, what's going on? Did you make Isabella angry again?"
"Grandpa, I..."
Before Michael could explain, Aiden shouted angrily, "I don't want to hear your excuses!"
"You idiot, how many times do I have to tell you that Isabella is your wife? Isabella is such an excellent and considerate girl, and you don't want her? Are you stupid?"
"I'm telling you, if you don't win Isabella back, you don't need to come back to the Brown Family anymore!"
Aiden's voice was very agitated, and Isabella, caught in the middle, didn't know whether to listen or not.
She frowned.
Taking advantage of their conversation, she turned and left.
She had no issues with Aiden but didn't want to be troubled by the Brown Family's matters anymore.
During this time, she didn't want to see him again.
When Michael hung up the phone, he realized Isabella was already gone.
He assumed she had gone to the kitchen and continued to wait for her in the living room.
But he waited until noon.
Isabella didn't come back.
Michael thought Isabella just didn't want to see him temporarily, but he never expected she would disappear for so long this time.
For a whole week, he searched everywhere she might appear but found no trace of her.
Since that encounter at the Wilson Family, Isabella seemed to have vanished from Evergreen City.
Michael knew she was deliberately avoiding him.
He didn't dare disturb Daniel, fearing his health couldn't take it.
So he had to ask others for information.
He couldn't contact anyone else, but he had a way to track Thomas's whereabouts.
One day, Michael waited at a road the Wilson Family frequently used and blocked Thomas on his way home.
Seeing Michael get out of the car, Thomas leaned out of the window and mocked, "I wondered who would use such a lousy trick to block someone. Turns out it's Mr. Brown!"
Michael, here to ask for help, didn't care about appearances.
He walked up to Thomas's car and politely called out, "Thomas!"
Then he continued, "I'm out of options. Isabella is closest to you. She wouldn't leave without telling you. Please tell me where Isabella is. I'm really worried."
Michael's tone was calm, but his eyes showed visible anxiety.
He had been searching for her for a whole week. If he didn't see her soon, he would go crazy.
The first day Isabella disappeared, he thought the Wilson Family had taken action.
Daniel was on his side, but he couldn't be sure about her uncles.
"Are you implying that I hid Isabella?"
Michael frowned, his dark suit exuding an imposing aura in the night, "Isn't that the case?"
He had thoroughly investigated all her usual places. If it wasn't the Wilson Family, how could he not find her?
Thomas sneered and raised an eyebrow, "Michael, your arrogance is really annoying. I haven't even asked how you offended Isabella, and here you are accusing us of hiding her?"
"If it weren't for Daniel's concern, we would have already conducted a thorough search for Isabella. We don't need you pretending to be kind here. Every time Isabella is upset, it's because of you. I'm warning you, get out of the Wilson Family's territory and don't let me see you again!"
"Move!"
Thomas was truly angry this time.
He stepped on the gas and brushed past Michael's car.
Isabella was the most cherished member of the Wilson Family. She lowered herself to marry Michael, and what did she get in return? In these three years, had he ever shown her any care?
Now that Isabella was missing, he was anxious. What was he doing before?
Even if he knew Isabella's whereabouts, he wouldn't tell Michael.
Michael frowned deeply.
He never expected that even the Wilson Family was looking for Isabella. Where could she have gone to hide so thoroughly?
He had someone check the airlines immediately, and there was no record of Isabella leaving the country.
She either went out of state or was still nearby.
He must have missed something.
Besides her uncles, who else was close to her?
Michael's eyes flashed as he thought of someone.
Olivia.
Isabella's only friend in Evergreen City.
If she was still here, she would definitely be in contact with Olivia.
Michael instructed Aaron, "Find Olivia's location. I need to ask her personally."
Given her uncles' attitude, Olivia wouldn't tell him the truth unless he asked her directly.
Aaron acted quickly and found Olivia at a film shooting base within ten minutes.
When Olivia finally finished her scenes and dragged herself back to her trailer, she looked up to see Michael sitting in the small seat, exuding an oppressive aura.
Olivia felt a pang of anxiety.
She instinctively looked for her manager, but Michael's deep voice interrupted, "Ms. Smith, I have some questions. I hope you can answer truthfully."
