Chapter 73
"Mr. Brown, I'm sorry to call at this hour. Isabella asked me to inform you that she has decided to officially divorce you. See you in court before 9 AM tomorrow. By the way, the $950 million you paid for the diamond necklace from the Wilson Family will be refunded to your account tomorrow. If Mr. Brown understands the rules, please do not disturb her life anymore." Thomas' tone was indifferent, but the threat was obvious.
Last time, Michael secretly fled the country, leaving Isabella alone in court. Thomas would remember that for a lifetime.
A man like Michael, who lacked responsibility, was not worthy of Isabella.
He would not allow such a thing to happen again.
After hearing this, Michael squinted his eyes, his voice cold and deep. "Thomas, you are clearly Isabella's uncle, yet you deliberately misled me about your true identity. What are you up to?"
Although he was questioning, he didn't give Thomas on the other end of the line any chance to speak. "Isabella and I have been married for three years. You didn't show up before, but now you are actively helping her with the divorce. As an elder, can't you bear to see us reconcile?"
No matter what, he would never divorce Isabella.
The thought of her completely cutting ties with him and turning to another man made him uncontrollably furious and mad.
She was his, and no one could take her away from him.
Thomas only sneered at Michael's unreasonable behavior. "Michael, how can you say such things? You know better than anyone what kind of life Isabella had in the Brown Family for the past three years. She has become like this all because of you. Reconcile? Stop dreaming. Ms. Wilson can have any man she wants. Without you, there are plenty of men lining up for her, each one better than you."
After saying this, Thomas hung up.
Isabella had already wasted three years on him and suffered three years of emotional pain. As her uncle, Thomas wished Michael would stay far away and never appear in front of Isabella again.
Thomas' words over the phone left Michael staring at his drink, suddenly losing the desire to continue drinking.
Meanwhile, the bar where Isabella was located had been targeted.
As soon as she entered the neighborhood where Indigo lived, she was already being watched.
They thought it was just like the last time when her parents were kicked out, but unexpectedly, they overheard a bombshell.
More than one media outlet was present, and to grab the headlines, they broke the news as soon as Isabella left the neighborhood.
The revelation that Isabella was the heiress of the Wilson Family instantly made headlines online.
In just a few minutes, the number of shares reached millions.
From initially stealing Bianca's boyfriend and kicking Indigo out of the house, to the revelation of her identity as a racing queen, Isabella had transformed into the enviable heiress of the Wilson Group.
With the Wilson Family's unparalleled background behind her and being the only recognized heiress of the Wilson Group, her net worth had long reached unimaginable figures.
Isabella's status made her and Michael a perfect match.
Especially after the news spread that Aiden personally gifted her shares, holding half of the Brown Group's assets, she now controlled the economic lifelines of two major families in the Southeast.
Such a status and background were far from being a country woman scheming to climb up by clinging to Michael.
Many people felt that Michael was the one who was out of his league with Isabella.
After all, with everything Isabella had, she still loved Michael for three years, even enduring his misunderstandings without leaving.
Theonly reason was Isabella had truly fallen in love, so that she would give up everything to stay by his side.
The online discussions were heated, and public opinion had drastically changed.
Isabella came out of the bar late at night, supported by Jesse.
Unexpectedly, as soon as she stepped outside, a crowd surrounded her, looking at her like she was a wealthy celebrity, full of envy.
Some even took out her photo, asking for her autograph.
Isabella was very drunk, seeing double, and couldn't understand a word of what was being said.
Jesse had the reporters cleared out and found a nearby five-star hotel for Isabella to stay in.
Lying on the soft bed, staring at the crystal chandelier that made her head ache.
Isabella curled up, enduring the burning sensation from the alcohol, constantly reminding herself that this was the last time she would get drunk over Michael.
Just as she was about to fall asleep, her phone suddenly rang, displaying a name she hadn't seen in a long time. It was Nolan.
The drunkenness in her head instantly dissipated. Isabella grabbed her phone and sat up, answering the call. "Nolan, is that you?"
However, Nolan was on the other side of the world. Why would he suddenly call after being silent for so long?
Nolan, one of her few friends, and Michael's second brother.
Nolan was handsome, capable, and always polite.
Originally, Aiden had favored him as the heir, but unfortunately, something happened.
When she first saw him, she almost mistook him for Michael, but later realized they were nothing alike.
Their personalities were worlds apart.
They got along well and had unique insights into the business world, eventually becoming friends.
Shortly after she married Michael, Nolan voluntarily went abroad.
In the past three years, they had hardly been in touch.
Hearing Isabella's surprise over the phone, Nolan chuckled warmly. "Of course it's me. Who else would it be?"
"Isabella, are you and Michael having a big fight?"
"How do you know that from abroad?" Isabella was extremely surprised.
The news of her divorce from Michael had only recently broken online. Had it spread abroad so quickly?
She knew Nolan's character; he wasn't one to follow such news.
Since going abroad, he hadn't cared about domestic affairs.
He would only call during holidays to greet Aiden.
"I found out by accident while talking to Grandpa." Nolan's deep voice paused. "I saw the news online. Are you really divorcing Michael?"
"Yes, first thing tomorrow morning!" Isabella didn't hide anything.
She had made up her mind about divorcing Michael from the moment she brought it up. It was only delayed because of Daniel's illness and Aiden's concerns.
