Chapter 416

Isabella tried to resist, but her curiosity got the best of her.

After all, it was Atticus and her best friend Olivia. Who knew what kind of juicy gossip might be happening?

"But I really want to-"

Before Isabella could finish her sentence, a warm hand covered her eyes.

The next second, Emilio's voice came from above her, gentle and soothing like he was calming a child.

"Alright, stop being so nosy. Mr. Atticus Wilson is your elder. What if we see something we shouldn't? How will you face him later?"

"So, the best thing to do is not to look, not to think about it, and just wait for them to come down."

Emilio had a point.

But Isabella wasn't worried about Atticus; she was worried about Olivia. If Olivia saw them, she would definitely run away in embarrassment.

She didn't want to waste this carefully prepared opportunity.

"Fine, I'll listen to you."

Emilio chuckled softly.

It was the first time he had seen her so obedient.

He wanted to hold her in his arms and never let go.

"Emilio."

The hand covering her eyes didn't move, and Isabella called out to him, puzzled.

But the next second, she felt something was off. Emilio seemed very close, so close she could feel his warmth on her back, as if they were about to embrace.

His warm breath fell on her head, making Isabella's heart race.

She knew Emilio's feelings.

His ambiguous actions were inappropriate.

So, she instinctively pulled away, avoiding Emilio's hand and his approaching body.

Emilio's eyes flashed with surprise. Just as he was about to explain, Isabella interrupted him, "Let's go. Weren't we heading to Graceful Haven Church?"

"Now? Aren't we waiting for Mr. Atticus Wilson and your friend?"

Emilio pointed inside, but his eyes also showed a hint of joy.

After all, he preferred spending time alone with Isabella.

Isabella smiled, "I was planning to wait for them, but now I think they need some alone time. If we stay, they'll feel awkward. Let's give them some space and go ahead."

She had only used Emilio and Olivia's situation to push Atticus. Now that it was done and there was no gossip to see, there was no point in staying.

She believed that once Atticus realized his feelings, he wouldn't push Olivia away.

They both had feelings for each other; it was just a matter of who confessed first.

It seemed the time was right.

"Alright, let's go."

Emilio smiled, wanting to hold Isabella's hand but thinking it was too soon, so he gestured for her to go ahead.

Following behind Isabella, his gaze deepened.

When he covered her eyes, she didn't seem to mind. Did that mean she could accept him?

Maybe they could be together.

Isabella didn't see the intense love and determination in Emilio's eyes. She pointed towards the garage.

"Emilio, I'll ride with you. On the way back, I'll go with Atticus."

The drive to the scenic spot wasn't short, and Isabella didn't want to drive another car.

Besides, Atticus and Olivia would be heading there soon.

"Of course."

Emilio was more than happy to ride with Isabella. How could he refuse?

They got into the car, set the GPS, and drove away from the Wilson Family estate.

Meanwhile, on the second floor of the Wilson Family house, Atticus had been hesitating outside the door for nearly five minutes.

Even though he had mentally prepared himself while coming upstairs, he still felt inexplicably nervous when it came time to knock on Olivia's door.

He didn't even know why he was nervous.

Usually, when he and Olivia met, she was the one who got nervous and scared.

If it didn't work out, he could just call her from outside.

After all, Isabella had asked him to wake Olivia up. Whether he did it from outside or inside the room, as long as she woke up, it was fine.

Atticus pursed his lips, not realizing how out of character his actions were.

Just as he raised his hand to knock, the door opened on its own.

Atticus stood there, facing a shocked Olivia.

"Atticus. What are you doing here?"

Olivia always called him by his first name, giving her a sense of equality with him, rather than the feeling of being a junior by over a decade.

Wasn't he supposed to be busy with work? Why was he suddenly at home, standing at her door?

Olivia instinctively thought he was looking for Isabella and pointed to the room across the hall, "Isabella's room is over there. You got the wrong room."

Atticus gave her a speechless look.

Was she still half-asleep? This was his house. Of course, he knew where his niece's room was.

He was here for her.

"I'm here to see you!"

"See me?"

Olivia pointed to herself, even more confused. "Why?"

Atticus cleared his throat, trying to hide his embarrassment. "I came to wake you up."

Olivia's eyes widened, thinking she had misheard.

But she quickly understood. It must have been Isabella who sent him.

That made sense. In this house, only Isabella could get Atticus to do something like this.

But she appreciated Isabella's good intentions. She had already made up her mind. Since Atticus didn't want to be with her, there was no point in clinging to him.

She didn't want to end up deeply hurt, watching him marry another woman.

Olivia smiled and looked up at him calmly, "I'm already ready. Isabella must be waiting downstairs. I should go to her, Mr. Wilson."

The term "Mr. Wilson" created a clear distance between them.

Atticus's expression changed instantly.

If Olivia had called him that before, he would have been relieved, thinking she had finally given up on their unrealistic relationship.

But ever since Isabella mentioned Olivia and Emilio being together, he couldn't stop imagining her with another man.

The term "Mr. Wilson" now sounded harsh.

Especially seeing Olivia's outfit, his brows furrowed deeply.

A white, elegant top paired with a warm-toned skirt made her look adorable and charming, different from her usual playful self.

Not only were her clothes unusual, but her makeup also showed how much she valued this date.

Did she really like Emilio?

But no matter what, he couldn't lose his composure.

"Let's go downstairs together."
